Truro City v Chard Town

Recommended Posts

Truro City continued there winning start on Saturday with a strong and impressive victory as they overpowered Chard, City returned to there impressive free flowing football on a excellent surface and the game was all but over within the first fifteen minutes.

It took seven minutes for City to find the net with Yetton converting his chance with ease and then followed a debut goal for Mark Vercesi on twelve minutes. Then goals on 16 and 18 minutes saw Yetton compete his hat trick after unselfish work from Andy Watkins, player manager Stuart Parriss was outstanding in the Chard goal pulling off some class saves to deny City's attack but couldn't stop Andy Watkins scoring the 5th goal of the game on thirty one minutes.

The second half was just two minutes old when one of City's young starlets Chris Reski showed his skill to make it six, Chard found it hard to create a chance against a very mean City defence and conceded a seventh goal on 67 minutes through Watkins. Although the heat tested both teams they were able to entertain the large crowd, City did miss a penalty when Jake Ash spot kick was well saved by Parriss but within five minutes City were awarded another penalty and Wembley hero Wills converted the spot kick to crown a fine performance.
