Truro FC Trust Statement

Trust Statement

It's with great sadness at present the administrators have failed to find a purchaser to work with us. Despite positive statements no cash has been forthcoming. At the moment members of the trust feel let down as the amount of man hours used in forming the trust have been immense and we were under the impression someone would front up

Supporters of this club deserve to know where they stand, hence this statement. We shall keep trying to the death.

Thank you to all genuine fans for your support.

If anyone is serious about saving Truro City as a football club, they should be looking to save the SWPL side for a start - has anyone started negotiations for a groundshare for the remainder of this season ?

The Conf Sth is gone, build on what is left, get some goodwill back. At the momemt, City are tarred with the same Ginger brush that swept all before him.

See that Cornwall Council have offered to put up money to help save Truro City F.C. What an absolute shambles we appear to have running our County considering the total mess called refuse collection and the threat of out - sourcing nearly everything else to massage Robertson's ego. And now the Truro farce!

What else are we mugs going to tolerate?

Truro City could be expelled from the Football Conference unless a deal to save them can be reached by 17:00 BST.

Talks between the Conference and the club's administrators are believed to have stalled over a financial dispute.

It is understood Cornwall Council have offered £10,000 of the £50,000 required to cover other clubs' travel costs if Truro's results are expunged.

"We are working with Cornwall Council," James Moore, the administrator's solicitor, told BBC Radio Cornwall.

He added: "The council have agreed to help provide a contribution that will help enable Truro City to meet the Conference bond and the Conference are currently considering this proposal."

How can Public money be used to subsidise a problem which has ultimately been caused by a Private investor. Pretty sure that any other football club would be refused Council help if asked for. What justification can there be? The council does not benefit from the existence of Truro Football Club - or do they?

As a tax payer, I would rather than money be spent on services for the benefit of the whole county.

This is nothing personal against Truro F.C. but what makes them so special?

They've given millions to The Tate Gallery, The Eden Project, Heartlands etc - so a small amout to Truro City is OK with me. It works out to be about 2 pence per head of cornwall's population!

2p per head, but a few quid out what I pay per year ( tax+NI) That on top of what they already get from Truro/Penwith college. No no no. Enough is enough. They followed the messiah, blindly believing all his bull, let them get on with it

Even if Truro find the £50,000 bond how are they going to pay their running costs.

They are only still here because the players deferred their wages.

They won't defer them for a season or next!

£190,000 a year is needed to break even.

They can't earn that through the gate or sponsorship.

Cut their losses, drop the first team and make the reserves their first team and aply next season to put a team in Division 5 of the Trelawny League

Anyone know who at the council i contact to ask if they can lend a hand with the mortgage? It means nothing to anyone but a massive minority so shouldnt be an issue surely!?

Feel sorry for the Truro fans and players but to have a council handout, on top of the money they waste daily on "consultancy fees" etc, would be a disgrace

In the last few moments, BBC Radio Cornwall has spoken with Colin Peake - an official at the Football Conference.

He has told BBC Radio Cornwall that the Football Conference are 'hopeful that the conditions of the bond have been met', and expect to see confirmation of this in their bank account in the next few minutes.

They expect to see Truro's game on Saturday vs Dover to go ahead.

So the question is Who has put up the cash and will the players play on Saturday if not paid?

Last-ditch attempts to save Truro City Football Club (TCFC) have failed according to the legal team handling the administration of the club.

Truro City had until 6pm this evening to come up with a £50,000 bond to enable them to stay in the Football Conference.

The 123-year-old club that won the FA Vase now faces liquidation.

But James Moore, the solicitor advising Walsh Taylor, the club's administrators, said the Football Conference had refused a rescue package.

Taken from BBC Radio Cornwall

At 5.00pm this afternoon, the Football Conference told BBC Radio Cornwall that they were 'hopeful' the club would deposit a bond with them this evening.

"We're waiting on confirmation from our bankers that the club have deposited the bond through their administrators", added Mr Colin Peake - a spokesman for the Football Conference.

The Conference also told BBC Radio Cornwall that they expected Truro's game with Dover Athletic to go ahead this Saturday.

BBC Radio Cornwall contacted the administrator's solicitor, James Moore, for comment.

Mr Moore vigorously disputes the Conference's version of events.

He says that the Conference rejected an initial proposal from the club, but agreed to extend the deadline until 6pm.

The administrator then went back to the Conference with numerous additional proposals, which were rejected.

Mr Moore says that, as a result, the administrators expect the Conference to look at postponing Saturday's game and suspend the club from the Conference.

However, the administrators say they have yet to receive official confirmation of this.

BBC Radio Cornwall has tried to contact the Football Conference for clarification of their original statement, and will bring it to you when we get it.

It's just been announced on the BBC News (around 7.30am) that TCFC have failed in their rescue plan and that they face expulsion from the league today.

If this happens how long will it be before the administrators now liquidate? The dept lies with the company / club and there is no way that any businessman would accept liability for the debt mountain on a SWPL team and a club that now has no assets.......

I've been reading on the Tiger Talk Forum about Mr Heaney being a crook, etc.

Those supporters have short memories.

Why was Mr Heaney allowed to take over the club? Because 8 years ago, Truro were £190,000 in debt to St Austell Brewery and were going to close anyway. So at least Mr Heaney gave Truro an extra seven years and all the glory they have had in that time.

Perhaps some of the fault lies in the early years of his takeover when the first couple of sets of accounts were published. If looked at properly they would have shown that the money he was bank-rolling the club with was listed as a loan. Perhaps then those directors who were still on their committee should have said, Whoa slow down or were they like most of the people involved with the club then caught up on the band wagon and didn't realise it was buy now pay later.

I'm not defending Mr Heaney as he ran the club in a very autocratic way especially in the latter years.

The deal regarding the ground must be looked at. By giving Truro City AFC Ltd a loan of £1.7M Mr Heaney by rights should be regarded as a creditor along with the other creditor who are owed over £700,000 between them. JoJo Investico paid £2.38M for the ground so where has that money gone? Did Mr Heaney own the freehold to the site. If so how did he gain it. Did the Trustees of the site give it to him in exchange for the original £190,000 investment because surly they didn't give it to him in exchange for a £1.7M loan.

If Truro City AFC Ltd do fold will the SWPL LTD allow their Reserves to carry on in the SWPL but under a new name, the same with the Cornwall FA. All insurances both player and property, affiliations, etc will be in the name of Truro City AFC Ltd?

If Truro City AFC Ltd fold then the players will become creditors as will the tax-man due to gate receipts, bar takings, etc since the Administrators took over. To be truthful the players would be best advised to cut and run whatever the outcome.
