marrabean
Having been involved with Wendron 2nds last season and knowing the work shifty has put in this summer i would say they should be looking at another promotion this season! AJ715
I think the leagues will be much tighter this season and there are some very good teams in the Prem Division, Illogan must be favourites after just missing out last season but TMS and Mawnan also in with a shout. Other teams rebuilding after last seasons poor performance still in with a shout and the teams promoted, but its to early to say who is looking good its still preseason and some players are playing games at several clubs to see where they want to stay. Im sure this is the same across all divisions

Scott Rowe
Think the leagues will still be a bit of a joke. As how can you finish 7th in your league last season and be promoted and expected to compete at a higher standard.

As how can you finish 7th in your league last season and be promoted and expected to compete at a higher standard. I understand where your coming from but if youre a higher league than last season then surely youve a better chance of attracting new players? Bit dissapointed with youre negativity before the season starts, if you feel that way I wouldnt bother playing!
AJ715
I disagree with you here dogfish, yes teams have been moved up but the weaker teams in those divisions still stayed where they are. The teams that did go up will be playing against the teams that stayed put and the teams they went up with so why would this be a joke? Surely it will be more competitive. Yes the leagues are going to take a while to settle down as it is only the second year but it takes time.
scotchio
well it won`t be us based on saturdays shambolic performance in fact i must be dreaming if i think i can get these lads playing as a team...absolutely terrible we`ll be lucky to stay up let alone challenge for anything

jolie1428
Scott u shouldn't be so negative wit ur team. If u cant be positive then how do u expect ur team to be? Last season I helped set up newlyn dolphins. I did this thinkin everyone was up 4 the challenge. After we got voted in everyone changed their mind. I then had to find new players and ask them to join a club that dint even exist a few months before. Had no pre-season,training This is our 2nd season and so far i've had 3 to positive friendlie's, good numbers turning up to training. U got to use wot U got at the end of the day and a team doesn't just gel over night. It takes time. Thats just my opinion ne way
scotchio
yeah man i hear you...i was just so livid to see the lads bickering and fighting amongst themselves and to be honest got on a right downer about it all.I`m sure we`ll pick ourselves up, dust ourselves down. This management malarky isn`t as easy as it once seemed.I`ll be back to my cocky, loud mouthed arrogant self by training tues
stokefan1
no one can judge who will do what in what league yet, theres obviously gonna be teams in each league who are always there an abouts and yes helston are very strong and mentioning division 5 i play for camborne park, but gwinear are strong marazion have signed some really good players e.g ( danny ford and others ) st erme have signed some decent players, mabe i hear are strong aswell as really good young helston 3rds side all teams there joined the league plus ones already there makes this league really strong! cant wait

Kash
Think 5 will be a tough league but higher standard I dont know? The better teams in the league would probably hold there own 2leagues up but the quality wont be across all the teams in the league, one or two big names wont make that much difference, sometimes has a negative affect on a team because they rely on those players too much! bluenose
There's certainly no negativity at Marazion Kash....Stevie has put together a good team, a combine of his old Hayle team and a few additions.....with Danny Ford, Matty Thomas and Liam Mooney leading the line....we've had creditable draws against Perranwell and St Keverne (both Prem sides) and wins over Rosudgeon (Div 1), Falmouth Ath (Div 2) and Grampound Res (Duchy Div 4)....will be a hard league but hopefully we'll be thereabouts come May....!!!

Fatso
You lads should play where you want; and for whatever team within that club you want. Forget what anyone else says. People forget that if all the players playing below their 'given standard' were to step up then lots of players playing at higher levels may be forced to drop down as a result... and then there would be lots of moans about that! I've played for a Div 2 team that hasn't strung more than 4 passes together so far in pre-season and that isn't much fun. Sad thing is when we do we look great. These lads have already said they are enjoying their football!

bluenose
Firstly it's not glory hunting, Steve had a good team last year that did well in Div 3 but for certain reasons he left Hayle and needed another team. Marazion kindly allowed him to go there. Because of who he is players want to play for him. A lot are mates who socialise outside of football so they are bound to want to play in the same team. Trust me as one of the ones on his last legs, none of them will get too big for their boots...!!!! A quick slap will sort that out. So far there is good banter and good football being played. As for the first team, we have trained with them and there is no way I would say we are better. They have a decent side who played well last year and won trophies. They have a good squad and probably wouldn't want any of our squad. If it aint broke and all that.....but if they ever need any players I am sure Steve will help, just as I'm sure if we were short they would help us. Div 5 looks like it's gonna be an exciting league with several new teams.
Kash
Well said bluenose, I understand mates playing together and that they might follow a manager after club politics at another club! Dave Marks
mmmmm not sure your team mates David will be pleased with those comments however truthful ? As for 2nd teams ??????? I will pass on that one . there's no arguing that there are dozens of quality players playing junior football far better than a hell of a lot of senior players in some cases, needless to say if you are really good like one or two players are in div 5 then you should not be there. on the other hand if his mates are crap why should he not play with them. as manager of the first team though if I picked him he'd have to play!!! And after last season what fun that is. Long gone are the days you play for the club , but not in my opinion.
bluenose
Marksy, I dont think any of them would have a problem playing for the firsts but I really dont think they would want us. They seem to have a tight group and are a decent set up. I appreciate wot ur saying and it can be frustrating for a first team manager but on the flip side I've seen players who are good enough to play for first teams being overlooked because their face doesn't fit or they are not in with the manager. The manager is also playing for the club and should pick the best team possible and not just his buddies...It's one of those topics that have 'fors' and 'against' to it and gives us the chance to have a debate on here...... :)
Dave Marks
spot on mate can't disagree with that , I've over looked players before because certain players don't like them etc in the first team at various clubs but to keep harmony you don't pick them when we should . we can't always be right about our decisions but we should sit comfortably with them! I love standing up?
