  1. Re: Cancelled Trelawney Cups

@Fish, I have already done this twice.
  2. Junior cup semi-finals draw

Not heard anything as yet so presume it will be next week now?
  3. Trelawny League - Saturday February 17, 2018

Sijames, although I agree with the recent weather we have had, we should be making a conscious effort to get games played; when you see it from the ‘home’ side’s view point: they’ve only seven games left to play so plenty of one for them to fit them in and they are potentially losing money with bar takings, which is vital in keeping teams running and afloat.
  4. Trelawney League Cups Cancelled?

We have done exactly this with our third and fourth teams! It’s about clubs being proactive!
  5. Trelawney League Cups Cancelled?

I have just read through the rule book of ‘the club’s league’: The Whirlwind Sports Trelawny League 2017/18 (I’ve had a bit of spare time). According to Rule 19a if two thirds of the club’s secretaries contact the league then they must hold a Special General Meeting. If this is done then we can address this issue. More disappointingly, the rule 19b states that the management committee can call a Special General Meeting at any time: surely this decision warranted a SGM? Furthermore, rule 20a states that any rule changes must be made at an AGM or SGM (Special General Meeting). Is the introduction of double headers and the cancellation of cups not a rule change, once again, to the best of my knowledge, this hasn’t been discussed at an AGM or SGM. Lastly, rule 23a states that dissolution of the competition shall be by resolution approved at a SGM by a majority of three quarters of the members present. Surely the cancellation of all of the cup competitions is a dissolution of competition; I reiterate that no SGM - to the best of my knowledge - had been called. I see the Trelawny League has ‘liked’ one reply to the post on Facebook. This tells me that you are aware of the replies and stir that this has caused. So could you please reply to my comment? I intend to write to all of the club’s secretaries and propose a SGM, would it be easier if you emailed them or shall I? Thanks
  6. Trelawney League Cups Cancelled?

Shocking. So many complications from league deciders to clubs losing trade and money. We’ve already lost enough trade over the past few months, vital money that keeps the club running and pays our bar staff. The loss of cups means that finals or semi finals won’t be hosted and further trade lost. We will be lucky if we don’t have to let any of our staff go because of the lack of games. Teams pay a fee to be entered into the leagues and cups, plus insurance. What is going to happen with that money? Are we going to see any return? As a player or manager, there are some teams that now only have cups to play for. They will lose all motivation and I bet some don’t fulfil their league fixtures because they have nothing to play for. This could have a massive say on promotion/relegation but worse, it could lead to clubs folding. The Trelawny League have done a great job so far. But this is completely outrageous and it makes a mockery of football in West Cornwall and the Trelawny League. We are only in February. Time has been lost but there are many more realistic and sensible options. I do not see any other league governing bodies hitting the panic button like this. I’ve been extremely supportive of the league but this does not put them in a good light. Josh McDonald
  7. CCFA website

Yes all sorted now. Really helpful to be honest!
  8. LONDON MARATHON

One of our players, Elliot Webb, is running the London Maraton this year. He is running in aid of Crohns and Colitis UK - a very worthy cause (as they all are) but one that does not get as much recognition and public support as it should. He has not asked me to put this up on the forum but I know he would be grateful for any possible sponsorship. Those that know of Elliot will know that he is not the most ‘athletic’ person in the world - but his commitment and dedication to training and the marathon have been second to none and he deserves every penny of support. So if you are willing to donate anything at all, I know that it would be much appreciated. Thank you https://t.co/kIgfFvKS7J?amp=1
  9. CCFA website

It looks like the new Cornwall FA website has been transferred across to the new FA system and that not all of the documents have been put across yet. I was wondering if anyone had a copy of the County Cup Rules PDF document as it keeps saying the old 404 not found when I click on the link. Thanks
  10. St Mawgan 1 v 3 Wendron United Firstly, amazing work by the ground staff to get the fixture on. The surface was in great condition all things considered. Wendron went one nil up only for the home side to equalise just before half time, their goal coming from their hugely impressively young central midfielder, Ashley ??? Wendron went 2-1 midway through the second half and sealed the win in injury time with a ‘shot’ (I use the word ‘shot’ loosely) from the edge of their own area which evaded the home keeper to settle into the back of the net. I believe the video is doing the rounds on Facebook? St Mawgan played some great football and Jim Hilton has them set up extremely well. Fully expect them to be challenging for the league title at the end of the season. Best of luck to them! Lovely food after too!
  11. BOND TIMBER CORNWALL JUNIOR CUP Fifth Round draw

I think that username is already taken!
  12. BOND TIMBER CORNWALL JUNIOR CUP Fifth Round draw

CCFA are trying to be proactive. They’re already behind schedule in the Junior and Senior cups and are trying to have minimal impact on leagues whilst completing their own fixtures. Half term shouldn’t make a difference. All know that football continues over school holidays. All teams were fixtured matches as it is so they all knew that they would be in action.
  13. BOND TIMBER CORNWALL JUNIOR CUP Fifth Round draw

Just seen on the Cornwall FA website all 5th round fixtures confirmed for this coming Saturday, 10th February.
  14. Favourites

Can’t speak for the East side but didn’t a fair few Trelawny Prem sides draw each other in the earlier rounds? Always think it’s pretty even myself. East have a slightly larger catchment don’t they? Don’t know off the top of my head how many teams are in each setup? Would that make a difference? Think that the St Mawgan v Lizard game and result reflects it being relatively even in terms of ability. Would be quite good to play a Trelawny select v Duchy select.
