  1. Junior cup semi-finals draw

Still working on it, hope to make an announcement tomorrow or Friday.
  2. Yep, his Dad, Tim Walton, played Senior One cricket for St.Austell, really good bloke. Always appreciated the work the ground-staff put into preparing a good wicket.

Next scheduled fixture is Somerset ( Away ) on Saturday 10th March at Wellington FC. With a 2.30 pm kick off. That still leaves Somerset at home plus home and away fixtures with Devon, all on or before the 31st March. The County may well investigate the possibility of the three counties playing each other once rather than twice. Devon have already played Somerset so they would only need to play Cornwall to complete their group fixtures and that would leave Cornwall to re-schedule their fixture with Devon as the Somerset game is already in place. Watch this space.
  4. Twenty minutes from full time Sticker had a goal over -ruled on the say of the Exiles linesman , from that the visitors struck three times in a five minute spell. Exiles physically stronger of the two sides, Sticker a much younger side who could have done with a couple more experienced players to guide the youngsters in tight games such as this.
  5. St.Stephen 9 Holywell Bay & Cubert 4.
  6. So pretty good going considering the elements. All four clubs known in the Senior Cup and three out of four in the Charity Cup. Proper Job, roll on Tuesday morning.
  7. Well done to both Secretaries for looking ahead at Saturday's weather forecast and coming to a sensible agreement in getting the game playing tonight and therefore concluded in order to get League fixtures up and running ( if of course it ever stops raining ). And a bonus that Tuesday morning we can run the Semi Final draw knowing the four clubs involved. A reminder that the Senior Cup Semi Final Draw will be Tuesday morning 10.00am. Plus the Semi Final Draw for the Charity Cup and Junior Cup. Venues will be announced as soon as possible but not for a few days, clubs have to be contacted and agree to host the various Semi's, which under current conditions will not be easy.
  8. Result. St.Stephen 2 - 1 St.Day. Goals from Joe Stone & Craig Coad. Two evenly matched sides played out an entertaining game which has left the Rec in a bit of a mess.
  9. Latest FACYC Results. 2017/18.

Gloucestershire 5 - 1 Durham. Big Guns of the Competition took a bit of a hammering from South & South West Counties sides. Semi Final Draw. Matches scheduled for 24th February. Norfolk v Gloucestershire Berks & Bucks v Staffordshire.
  10. Latest FACYC Results. 2017/18.

Round 3. Played today ( seems at times that it only rains in Cornwall ). Gloucestershire 5 Durham 1. Cornwall's last round victors through to the Quarters.
  11. Saturday 3rd February. 2.00 pm Kick Off. Weather permitting, playable pitches allowing. Penzance Res v Torpoint Athletic 3rd's. Frogpool & Cusgarne v Sticker Res. Lostwithiel v Wendron United Res. St.Mawgan v Lizard Argyle St.Stephen v St.Day Res. Unless anyone knows different.
  12. Cornish national team?

Spot on Tommy. We seem to answer this same old question time and time again. Another factor in the demise of the South West Counties Championship (Senior Section ) which happened some 10 years ago was the withdrawal of the Services involvement. The Army and Royal Navy. They both opted to play 'in house' competitions along side the RAF. Also financial cutbacks within the services lead to a withdrawal from Under 18 Competitions. In the eyes of the FA the three named are treated as 'Counties'. What Tommy also carefully explained actually left the competition with just Devon and Cornwall standing alone, all other Counties folded their Senior Section for the reason's explained. Hence the reason why both Devon and Cornwall endeavour to play an annual 'Services' fixture, mid week, so as not to infringe on club fixtures, well try not to anyway. Whether we get away with a fixture scheduled for February will depend on finding a ground with lights 'fit for purpose' at the moment i doubt that we will unless we switch to the 4G facility at HMS Drake where we have played in the past.
  13. Forum To Shut Down Next Month

    Nice one, Paul.
  14. Anticipating doing both the Senior Cup Q/F and Junior Cup Q/F draws at the County Office on Monday week ( 15th ) . Irrespective of the number of matches completed by that date.
  15. Ahead of Trevor’s funeral on Friday ...

Having just 'Google Earth' St.Enoder Church i would say that Car Parking could be an issue, so i would advise people attending to give themselves plenty of time or else you could have a long walk.
  16. Mike.

Would you have a clue of the Charity Cup Semi Final result of the tie played in April 1973 between Newquay & St.Austell.  The tie was won by Newquay, however the St.Austell President is endeavouring to put the actual score to the result.  I have left a message for Stuart Lenton to ring as he played in the fixture, however i thought i would try you as well.
