Hopefully the glorious Nanpean Rovers ground comes back into use. St Blazey used to be good with the Par railway line behind. I am not sure if the Longships lighthouse is also on view. Not the most Westerly football club on mainland Britain as it appears to be just edged out by Sennen F C but there again where is the Sennen pitch? Really? Breeze blocked and soulless. Saltash is the worst ground I've ever visited - a time portal to 1950s Eastern Europe. On a more positive note, love grounds with raised embankments - Bodmin (and THAT stand), Falmouth and Wadebridge spring to mind. Also, for the views, Appledore, Exmouth and Ilfracombe. To get to via a steam train, Galmpton, Minehead and Watchet. For being grounds with slopes and a bit of individuality, Chard and Holsworthy. For being a classic, unspoiled non-League ground still connected to its community, Ladysmead, Tiverton. For the setting, Crediton and Okehampton and for no particular reason I can put my finger on, Bickleigh. allowed
  2. A star performance for Christian Walton in goal for Wigan who defeated Manchester City in one of the great F A Cup giant killing acts. Born at Wadebridge and England U19,U20 and u21 International Son of cricketer Tim Walton I believe Following on the Cornish goalkeeping tradition of Nigel Martyn and Kevin Miller
  3. Congratulations to Gerald!

Also played for my club Pengegon FC (Mining League) lol
  4. Congratulations to Gerald!

Happy birthday Gerald a true Cornish Soccer Man Trouble is Tommy,Dave and Rappo he is a Gooner. lol
  5. SWPL - Saturday Feb 17 2018

Exmouth Town 0 Falmouth Town 4 (Best ever result at Southern Road in 10 visits) Jordan Annear 2-Luke Brabyn-Harry Clarke Jordan now on 51 club goals from 63 appearances
  6. Looks like a good game at Bickland in the CC League Cup Q/F Falmouth Town Reserves 3 Penryn Athletic 3 AET (With Falmouth Winning 3-2 on Penalties) 1-0 (12m)Rob Wearne-...1.-1(31m) Ryan Reeve....2-1 Kyle Cooke (P)(35m) H/T 2-2 Ryan Reeve(90m) F/T...2-3 Liam Jarvis(100m)....3-3 Ben Kellow(113m) AET Falmouth now meet St.Day in the Semi Final
  7. Bodmin Town

Is this the price paid for competing in the F A Cup/Vase or the exceptional weather to hit Priory Park this season ?-All other clubs have played a lot more games.
  8. What was the attendance-? It didn't seem a lot on a miserable rainy afternoon and most of the noisy ones were from London.
  9. Must visit SW grounds

Cant understand why he puts Kimberley Park at the bottom of his list -relating it to the EasterEuropean grounds "Breeze blocked & soulless) of the 1950's
  10. Cornwall Senior Cup Torpoint Athletic v Bodmin Town (I Believe) Rain forecast from early morning

    Plymouth Parkway HOME League v Falmouth Town SWL 1998-99 (1-3); 1999-00 (0-4); 2000-01 (2-2 played at Bickland): 2001-02 (4-3); 2002-03 (2-1); ; First at Bolitho Park 2003-04 (3-2) 2004-05 (0-1); 2005-06 (3-2); 2006-07 (2-0) SWPL 2007-08 (2-1); 2008-09 (1-3); 2009-10 (3-1); 2010-11 (4-1); 2011-12 (3-0); 2012-13 (1-0); 2013-14 (6-2); 2014-15 (2-0); 2015-16 (2-2); 2016-17 (1-0) SWL P9.W5.D1 L3.F17--A 18 SWPL P.10 W8 D1 L1 F25--A10

Its looking likely that this could be Falmouth's last visit to Bolitho Park as Parkway are running away with the SWPL and on to the Western League next season. Bolitho Park is not a "Happy Hunting" ground for Town who first played there in 2003/4 have only registered 2 wins and a draw. Although Falmouth did win their first two games away to Parkway 1998-00 which I believe was at the Sports Ground--Was that the old Oak Villa ground at Ernesettle?
  13. derek brown

Derek was at the helm during the troubled times when Falmouth dropped down from Western League Premier to the Cornwall Combination League.(1983) RIP to a true servant of the club
  14. Is there something eerie about the SWPL Div.1 West ? LOL Illogan wanting out along with Penryn-Hayle-Truro City- Foxhole-Goonhavern-Perranporth and Vospers in the past. For next season 9 SWPL West clubs have all applied for leave up into the Premier Division leaving lonely Carharrack as the only Cornish wanting to join
  15. I see where you are coming from Ivor- The St.Dennis ground is called Boscawen Park up in the Clay country.
  16. It seems developments are proceeding surely and quietly for this new sports complex at Falmouth without any Council /tax payer funding. Well done Tommy and co. The begging bowl for the S4C must appear as a kick in the teeth for all previous improvements at Wendron,Helston,Mousehole and Hayle to name a few who have achieved their success through dedicated time and effort by many volunteer personel
  17. All SWPL Premier games OFF-------All Senior Cup games ON I think the CCFA have a big influence on playing
  18. Just seen the BBC forecast for Wednesday -a rain belt for the evening backed up by 60 mph gales-maybe back to Camelford on Saturday
  19. With this Saturday rain predicted and a likely postponement-will Carharrack accept a midweek game at Torpoint or being a club without lights will they claim their rights to play next Saturday ?
  20. After the CCFA odered the match to be played on Saturday it appears the two clubs used inititiave and commonsense to reverse the fixture and play on Friday night-credit to Bodmin & st.Dennis
  21. Plymouth Argyle U 18s (The team that beat Man City & Burnley) are Away to Forest Green Rovers on Saturday morning (Jan 13th.) so they wont be playing at Kellaway Park So I see three points for The Blues against a weakened team.
  22. I would have thought the CCFA could have shown more consideration to the SWPL by using up a Saturday when switchng to St.Dennis. There is rain forcast for Saturday morning so this tie could go back to Priory Park in midweek . Couldn't the two clubs have agreed to a proviso that if postponed Tuesday play on Wednesday With the Bodmin v Cullompton now called off on Saturday it leaves Bodmin to play 25 more league games and at least two in the Cup to fit in.. I bet Truro are taking note of all these postponements to Priory Park with view of groundshare there next season.
  23. Now that this date has passed are there any official applications to join or leave the SWPL ? Parkway to Western League (Premier) step 5-perhaps
  24. Falmouth Town v Penzance declared ON 2pm ko Two longstanding clubs renew rivalries after 5 seasons this afternoon for what is arguably the top game in Cornwall.
