Sad though Keith , football isn't as popular as it once was and less are involved be it players , fans or volunteers other local sports in the same boat ,  if you look around the more established clubs in the combo you see the same faces behind the scenes , the ones that man the gate ,tea hut , look after pitches facilities , fixture's ect ect , it's good to see the ambitious clubs , like Pendeen , West Cornwall and Carharack recently making the step up and they have been a breath of fresh air hope it continues for the league future and success .

Thanks mate. Can’t take total credit. I believe Perranwell suggested it but we have already done it once before this season and everyone at Tine behind the scenes were keen. Have a couple of players working in the morning which is a shame but gives others a game. Just need to play while we can really. So hard stop start all the time

I have, but it’s a rivalry game so both clubs think that it would be more appropriate to have a neutral official as it complicates things. Managing the side while officiating in such a vital fixture doesn’t sit well with me.

i have also offered to officiate another game if ours is, indeed, called off. So don’t worry about me - I’ll be involved in Football one way or another on a Saturday

Simply to make sure we have a ref and a match. Both clubs keen, cleared with league  and ref in place.

All clubs have to attempt to improve because if you stand still you get stagnant and soon your club will be lucky to survive. But you need volunteers behind the scene's and this is where you start to get problems because players tend to move from club to club.we are lucky where we have wife's and mothers willing to help and it does help tremendously.

I did the same Older but if we are to attract the "new breed" of players, the better the facilities, the more chance there is they'll carry on playing!

I don't think you can do anything to slow the demise of local football anymore - too many distractions these days.
And they are fed up playing by the time they reach 16 they have already done a 10 year stint with kids / daddies football.
And to much televised football is the final nail.

Change in your cars, and wash the mud off in the puddles after the game is what we had ....didn't do us any harm.

Stevie, you are correct on the bad language, the Parish Council complained to the club and we raise this with Refs before every match. As you know the children's playground is right next to the pitch and you would think there would be more respect, but some teams apparently have no issue with using foul language next to young children, it's disgraceful.
On the subject of the pitch, the comments are unfair, like most pitches in the recent weather, ours has suffered, but the pitch had been rolled and the grass is not taken to the lowest cut to try and help protect it from cutting up; it won't be the longest grass that Pendeen have to play on in the league, that's for certain!
The club has tried to improve the dugouts, the ground is not Council owned, but is a King George V Playing field and it has a certain protected status because of it. The playing field committee has been approached about permanent dugouts, but for whatever reason will not give the club consent to build them, so we are stuck with the temporary dugouts until something changes.
We look forward to playing at "Premiership"standard facilities when we go to Pendeen later in the season! ; - )

    Div. 3:
    Newlyn Non Athletico Res. (1) 1 -v- 7 (3) West Cornwall Res.
Nice day for it, weather was reasonable, and the pitch resembled a bowling green, that had been home to a heard of cows for a week. A feast of football it was not. Especially first half, where a number of handbags appeared throughout, and the ref did a good job of keeping on top of it all. First goal was unfortunate for the home keeper, after saving a good angled shot, the ball went straight upwards above his head, and although full marks for the 360 degree swivel he did wondering where it had disappeared to, the WCR forward took full advantage and ran in to whip the ball home. There was then a quick break from the halfway line, and a very good confident finish to make it 2, and a third followed after good work again, with WCR being a yard quicker to the loose ball, rounding the keeper for a nice finish. NNAR got one back with an OG, and did create one or two half chances. But the WCR defence looked very solid.
Second half was more about the football, with all handbags being left in the changing rooms. The visiting team looked very dangerous on the attack, and gradually pulled away with 4 more goals.
Newlyn battled well, and will feel a little hard done by on the final score line, but there was no doubt about the winners, a well deserved result for West Cornwall.
Excellently refereed by a late volunteer. Cheers for that.

In our day it was a great tackle to use as a player and good to watch when a spectator. A greasy pitch was a thing to be relished, or feared. Some players were very good at the slide tackle, others not so - ouch !

RNAS Culdrose's fall on the small and skinny people only. A real squeeze to get eight in there unless Bill Pearce is willing to share his executive box.

I would just like to say a massive thank you on behalf of st just football Club, to all the helpful people involved at goonhavern football club, when helping out our player scott meagor today in what can only be described as a freak accident. The help he received in the 2&1/2 hours whilst waiting for an ambulance was amazing and as a club we can't thank you enough!!
We have just had an update from the hospital and he has a clean break to the tib and fib and he is in a full cast awaiting his operation.
    🙏 for a speedy recovery!

Tempo Falmouth is a big catchment area and you are not that far away , it wasn't meant as a dig , agree players play for managers and some do move around but you seem settled and your club has been around for years  credit to all at your club .

I love the hard luck stories from Madron !
Clubs were advised at AGM that a new Astro pitch was being installed at Hayle and 2 nd and 3 rd teams would play on it .....after completion in October .
Madron were advised as normal by Hayle secretary more than the required 5 days ....NOT 2 days as claimed !
Their club secretary phoned me last night to say game would go ahead and no problems with footwear ....but had a couple of players missing .
    Good try lads !

I remember when I first played for Holmans back in the early 1980s we were regularly being beaten by double figures but we stuck with it and improved and ended up making the area final of the junior cup and winning promotion to the combo. That to me gave me far more satifaction than moving to a club that was winning every week and yes I did have offers to move to better clubs. But then that's loyalty and there are very few loyal players around today
