    Saturday 19th May results

Division 3 Newlyn NA res 2-5 Falmouth DC On a warm day in Penzance we finally came across a rock hard pitch for the first time this season and at times showed we weren't used to it. As the game settled down though Falmouth slowly got on top and took a 3-0 lead only to concede right on half time. The second half started with Newlyn on top but Falmouth looked to have sealed it with a 4th. However Newlyn hit back again to keep the game in the balance. Falmouth finally claimed the 3 points with a 5th near the end. 1 game to go on Thursday. Also congratulations to Frogpool Reserves on winning division 3 today.
  3. Division 3. Falmouth DC 8-1 Newlyn NA reserves. Dracaena looked as good as it has all season - i dont think I've seen grass on it in May before 🙂 - and the surface lent itself to a good passing game. Falmouth took an early lead but were soon pegged back by Newlyn. However DC then took control and led 5-1 at half time. In the second half Falmouth played some good football and scored 3 more goals but Newlyn had chances in the game. Despite the scoreline Newlyn never dropped their heads. Many thanks to them for coming back to the bar after game. Also thanks to https://www.upperdeckfalmouth.com for the food and hospitality after the game. Return fixture at Newlyn next Saturday.
  4. Trelawny 3. Falmouth DC 1-2 Ryan Minor A hastily rearranged game after both sides opponents for this Saturday couldn't raise a side. On a baking hot Saturday a strong Ruan side raced into a 2 goal lead after 10 minutes and it looked.like DC were in for a long day. However Falmouth slowly worked their way back.into the game and by half.time had pulled a goal back and the game was in the balance. Ruan again started the second half strongly bit couldn't make the pressure pay. DC once again worked their way back into the game and almost equalised when hitting the bar from range. Soon after Falmouth were down to 10 men when they had a man sent off for 2 yellows. DC from then battled hard but weren't able to create any chances. On the day Ruan as good as any side we've played this year.
  5. Trelawny 3. Falmouth DC 7-1 St Just reserves. Great credit to St Just travelling to play us on a Thursday night with just 10 men. With last Saturday's and this Saturdays games being called off due to teams unable to raise a side it was nice to get a game in. A tight game for the first 10-15 minutes, then the extra man told and Falmouth went in 6-0 up at half time. A combination of complacency from Falmouth and St Just never dropping their heads meant the second half was 1-1. Cheers again St Just.
  6. Finally good weather and people can't play!!
  7. Trelawny 3. Falmouth DC 2-0 Frogpool Reserves A hard fought game against a very good frogpool side who dominated the first 25.minutes of the game. Falmouth slowly settled into the game and took the lead, followed by another a little before half time. Frogpool came out strong in the second half and were unlucky not to score but DC held firm and looked dangerous on the counter. DC on a good run - just a shame no cups to finish the season strongly with. Frogpool a very good side who should win this division still.
