Thanks Dave. I've been living in Cornwall for nearly a year now - I'm the 'other' Gareth from the St Austell Voice! I grew up in Swanage and my father was heavily involved during the club's halycon days of the '80s when they were a Western Premier side. Naturally I followed in Dad's footsteps and before moving down here, I fulfilled just about every role imaginable at Day's Park! It's a tremendous achievement for Swanage, as a Step Seven club to get the First Round of the Vase. They have already bundled out two sides from Step Six, but Bodmin will a tough ask, especially given the fact Swans will be missing at least three key players for the game on Saturday. It was such a shame that the game last week was postponed as most of the club officials stayed at my Guest House (I own one in Mevagissey, journalism is just a hobby really) and a number of the players, due to the generosity of the club sponsors, travelled up on the Friday and stayed in the Cornwall Hotel and Spa near St Austell. The FA did try and insist that the game must take place by this coming Thursday, but the club, with the backing from Bodmin, the DPL and the SWPL successfully applied to the FA for the game to be played on a Saturday. Looking forward to the game and although Bodmin go in as firm favourites, Swanage won't be easy pushovers and if they win, it will rank as one of the greatest ever achievements in the club's history.

Thank you Gents, that's the sort of knowledgeable reports I was looking for, by people who know the game and the players, far better than the remote, sterile, print media! It just would have been nice forty-eight hours ago. Hey ho, better never than late (or not)!

You can calm down down now now Geachy it has been announced that the tickets prices for the game are £10 for adults and £5 for concessions pasties free of charge and with the coach fare being £25 or only £20 on the TISA Party Bus this has to be a better day out than Flambards, also the fireworks will be on the pitch, as they say "No pyro no party" All you have to decide now is whether to bring an Anne's a Mary's or an Aunty Avis's just as long as you bring one along one for me. See you there boy with your St Pirans Flag

Apologies for the wait Bruegel the Elder, definately not a case of only sing when we're winning, it was so long ago since we lost I think everyone was in a state of shock and forgot to report and please do not compare us with our former rivals Falmouth Town who we did not hear from for three seasons or was it Vivaldi and four seasons of even Frankie Valli and Lets hang on to what we got. Anyway just for you here we go. On a blustery Saturday afternoon "Late in October (Oh what a Night) Truro City came away pointless. In an even 1st half both teams had goals disallowed for offside. The first goal came on the half hour mark when Eisa finished from close range, he doubled the score moments later, the half finished with Wealdstone deservedly leading 2-0. The second half was a different story with the wind behind them and the TISA choir in full voice ( Wembley Wembley and We're going to win the Cup etc) Jon North in the home goal performed heroics to keep City at bay although the home team did have a couple of half chances themselves to be fair. The breakthrough came late in the game when Tyler Harvey converted a cross from Ben Gerring. The last 10 minutes was all Truro with efforts from Lamont Nial Thompson and Gerring all going close but to no avail. Final score Stones 2 City 1. The team and supporters all returned home dissapointed but travelled back to our plaice with bigger fish on there minds I'm sure.

I wouldn't try that one if I was you Geachy you may get attached to a piece of rope by the TISA boys and tossed over the crossbar. Anything the Eggchasers can do at Twickenham we can do at The Valley. Just as a matter of interest can you let us know your weight so as we know how many members to designate for the tossing if you will pardon the expression.

Why would it be in anybody's interest to fix anything to do with Cornish football? Absolutely ridiculous. Camelford cup fixtures this year, Helston H then Tavi A Wendron A then Mousehole A now St Ives A just luck of the draw nothing more nothing less.

No matter what topic gets raised on here it always gets turned to clubs paying out money. This topic started out as a dig at the CCFA doing the draw behind closed doors. Now we are again discussing players payments. Give it a rest
