  1. ok, so the game is abandoned at HT like this one, who then at the ground has all of that information to make the correct and informed call? both managers, part time voluntary grassroots football coaches? on the back of an abandonment, its not the way things should be done in this situation i am afraid and certainly not a position any referee would want to be thrown into! if you're going to go onto say that 'the two clubs should have someone present who would know the ins and outs of these laws', equally they should also know that once its abandoned its abandoned, end of!
  2. thats what i said? i'm glad he walked off to be honest, i didnt mind being out of pocket and having to go as i turned up hoping to watch a decent game of football only for that to turn into an absolute barrage of abuse towards the referee from mostly those who havent got a clue what they were talking about, and, letting their own emotions take over their gobs! Penryn have an issue, in both teams, in the club, and i hope they are dealt with accordingly!!!!
  3. ridiculous, have you considered IF the replacement referee was actually qualified to do that level? (or even a registered referee with in date DBS / Safeguarding amongst other things!) who would check this before the game resumed? thats half the issue, and not just because 'well we know him', thats irrelevant! the minute the official abandoned the game, both teams should be considering what happened and concentrate on what potential repercussions will come of this! not if we can get 'old boy in' jsut to get over the line!!!!
  4. this is true, i was there, and i must admit i dont know how the referee lasted as long as he did! AND, he didnt actually make any wrong decisions leading to any of the goals at all, shame on them! this club is spiraling out of control and has been for sometime now. you only have to look at the 'back room staff' to see why, the chap who used to be the club lino going on like he knows what he is talking about when in fact he hasnt got ANY experience playing the game and talks a load o rubbish, its laughable! i think this should happen more often, well done to the man in black, and as for Illogan offering a replacement referee, that referee should be spoken to by the CCFA and have a slap on the wrists for offering to step in just to get 3 points! he should be backing his fellow referees decision, its not like there was an injury, it was abandoned!!!
  5. I was also at the game I must say the pitch was looking fantastic well done to the grounds team. st day have certainly put together a very strong squad this season and should win the league by a country mile! Who’s backing them to be able to tempt these players to the club financially? The club itself or sponsorship/ incentives elsewhere? on the topic of the results on here, I don’t agree with the layout of the new forum. The way it is set up deters teams in the lower leagues submitting their results and write ups in my opinion, I much preferred it when they had their own league, get rid of the ones which hardly have a comment (selling one / grounds one) and have some separate ones for people to have the confidence about submitting them rather than staying clear through fear of being belittled about their standard. for me it’s no coincidence that since the layout has been changed the input has been minimal? Surly worth revisiting this before people stop visiting altogether?
  6. Too many chefs I heard, players wanting to make decisions, bar staff and linesmen making calls out of their remit, not letting kimmo and co do what they wanted to do and were actually put in a position where they had to give the club an ultimatum! clubs not been the same for 10-15yrs now, shame really given the setting, problems behind the scene with some of the players and what they get up to, no youth at all, now I see the reserves are bringing back the likes of Mike brewer and owners etc also! Crazy! They’re making it hard work for themselves in my opinion they need a good clear out of players who cause disruption and get a fresh committee in!
  7. What utter rubbish the vast majority of these negative replies are, I think the leagues and committee and of course Mr carpenter have done an excellent job with this, and let’s be honest it was probably the only way it could of been done! like ever on this forum the negativity is from the ones who talk a good game behind their keyboards but never really do anything around the leagues, have no understanding of how things work, but are quick to pipe up just because they feel hard done by! Those clubs who have been ‘put’ into the lower leagues is because that’s the standard your club is currently at!! You can’t moan about that! You can’t expect to jump a league or two just because this season you have a decent team that in your eyes are worthy of playing higher, earn it like everyone else!! You have NO right!
  8. Surly dropship can use one of their 103747203747393 pitches they use as their ‘home’ pitches? 🤣
  9. I’ve heard this morning that West cornwall have (or will very soon!) be lodging an official complaint about Dropship playing an inclined player? I can now assume this is the player who made his debut, surly they wouldn’t make this school boy error in such a big game?
  10. Always an inconsistent club, shame for those who have stuck with them but playing on that pitch was always going to reduce the appeal.
  11. Real shame whats happened to the regular hayle lads, Danny ford etc? 🤷‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤣
  12. Ridiculous excuse this early on especially with two teams! I hope the league make an example of this as if they fail to do so it’ll open up the floodgates for others to follow suit. as someone quite rightly pointed out about the ruling for senior status which would effect their reserve team players, but that’s by the by isn’t it they should make every effort to put a team out for their highest team, but just cancelling it through fear of this doesn’t make any sense to me or the others looking in!
  13. ‘They're also massively different to other clubs due to the nature of their geographic location. They have teams that play in Mabe, Cury, Nancegollan, Hayle (previously) and Falmouth. This is because Dropship simply can not find a ground of their own, despite their best efforts.’ how ironic that you’re trying to justify your existence with clubs / villages / Towns that have either since folded due to lack of players or are in desperate need of players, yet a club established on the basis that they aimed it at those who couldn’t commit to ‘normal’ football now find themselves cherry picking players from established clubs! why not stick with your initial intent, and when players are ready within your dropship teams direct them to clubs which are geographically within their grasp? or, failing that, just take pleasure by taking them away for yourselves and your own clubs ego and let clubs fall by the wayside….! then attempt to justify it, again and again.
