....another tragic loss to football in Cornwall .

Ran the line for me many times at Ludgvan and Perranwell during my refereeing days , along with his many hours watching cricket in the summer .

Everbody will miss him on Saturday afternoons with his flag around the grounds. :clapper: :clapper:

RIP Brian.

Really saddened to hear this news.Brian ran the line for me quite a few times at both Ludgvan and Perranwell and he will be truly missed at both clubs.Always had time for a chat too when not involved.

Absolutely gutted to hear the news that Brian won't be at any more games with Perranwell.
He was a very dedicated man and loved his football and even more so loved to run the line,he couldn't do enough for the club in all his time down there and even to the very end was still helping out behind the scenes,he will be sorely missed by us all,
R.I.P Brian .

Another of cornish football's real nice guys has left us far too soon. Brian came down to Porthleven to watch our game a couple of weeks ago &, although not in the best of health, he still had that smile on his face & was still able to wind me up about the fact his beloved Wolves were still above my Leeds United. The fairest linesman you could ever meet but Brian was much more than a linesman at Perranwell, he was one of the reasons i enjoyed going there & the place will miss him, as will i !
Rest in peace my friend

Can,t believe it,i would see brian almost everyday recently as he was working converting flats below me.A lovely man who even fed our cat when we went away, nothing was too much trouble for brian and we would spend hours winding each other up about football.
Such sad news as i know he was looking forward to his retirement years, condolences to brians family on their tragic loss from my family and all at hayle.

So sorry to hear the bad news,my thoughts are with Brian's family and many friends. Just like to echo what the lads have just said.Brian was one of the best and always gave you an honest opinion on your performance, good or bad!! Think that was why he was such a good and honest linesman as well! A fantastic clubman for Perranwell. Always remember a goal he gave to Porthleven! We said "It was'nt even over the line Bri!!!" He said,"Dont worry about it,your winning 4-0 anyway!! You will be sorely missed by us all Brian.

Another great loss to Cornish Football, can only echo the sentiments above. Sincere condolences go out to family, friends and all at Perranwell, both personally and on behalf of RNAS Culdrose FC.

Hello All, I'm Brian's son Andrew,
All these wonderful and heartfelt comments are very much appreciated at this difficult time, I know our family, especially Mum (Christine) finds it very comforting indeed.
Dad loved his football, as you all know (and say!) and all the lovely folk who are associated with Perranwell F.C couldn't do enough for him. I hope they can win the league now, and his beloved Wolves stay in the Premiership too! That would be just great!
I will post details when and where his funeral will be taking place in due course.
Thanks again to all who met and brought him great pleasure through the years, he would be so proud to read this all...

Regards,

Andrew Triggs

Sad news, always shared a joke or 2 with him down at Perran when the seconds didn't have a game!! As many have said he was more than just a Linesman he was a Clubman, and there are not many of those around these days
You will be sorely missed

RIP

If you wanted to e mail in a photo of Brian with a short message we could put it in a Matchday programme if you wished."
