  1. St Day have submitted all promotional paperwork as this has to be done prior to the end of December. We have had a stadium accreditation visit (formally known as ground grading) and we have a few items outstanding. We have been gradually working on items such as changing rooms, public toilets, hospitality, widening the pitch, digging out so that the pitch can be lengthen by 4m this May all over the last two years. We have to put hardstanding on 3 sides, seater stand, ticket booth and floodlights. All of which have gained planning permission (some in 2021). Work is commencing on Sat 4th May with some volunteers, then it's over to pitch contractors and ground contractors to complete the rest. We will shortly be instructing a floodlight company to get them install in the near future too. Hopefully that brings the world up to date with little of St Day AFC!😁🖤💛
  2. Once again the fund is open to clubs to apply for the funding for a new kitchen to help clubs. If successful you get a completely new kitchen and all appliances, clubs will need to fund any plumbing and electrical work but hopefully with volunteers in clubs you may get lucky. In the last round 100 clubs in the whole country were awarded a brand new kitchen, and 5 came from cornwall, so a good high percentage. Click here to find out more info: https://www.cornwallfa.com/news/2023/dec/16/howdens-kitchens If anyone needs help with application feel free to ask. Deadline is 31st Jan.
  3. Surprising our main pitch is in good condition just one or two wet areas. 75% of the pitch would have taken machinery if needed. The sand, vertidraining and the slitter is certainly helping. Fingers crossed this dry weather allows us to get on and do something this week. Good luck to everyone and just keep doing your best.
  4. Nearly 12months on and the same story!!!🤣🤦‍♂️🙏
  5. Lovely man and great service to Cornish Football. Condolences to his family.
  6. Countryman nothing negative about my post, so I hope you're not relating your comment to me. I've got a right to pick up on post which are slanderous towards the club. I'm sorry that's on a results thread and it upsets you but CB34 does seem to have a little issue he needs to get off his chest and plus I'm always open to learning from a more knowledgeable other, just like we all should. Hopefully CB34 will ring me and I will not have to post again. Sorry to intervene on your fourm. Warmest Regards
  7. Christ CB34 you have finally replied, where have you been. I hope you're OK and healthy? Anyway please could you ring me tomorrow so I can start to implement your superior knowledge into our club. Sadly we lost out on this last weekend as youve taken so long to reply, which is out of the norm for you when involving St Day. So I would hate to miss another weekend of our members having access to these improvements. Look forward to your call. Here is my number again for ease 07875596798 Cheers
  8. Hi CB34, I'm not sure who you are but I would like to find out. With a comment like that you must know so much about our club and must have an excellent background and experience of what makes a good club, a bad club and a toxic one. Please call me to discuss what we do that is so "toxic" in your opionion, your solutions to those problem and I will look to implement them. I would hate for 18 football teams, 64 volunteers and 250+ players to continue in this way without your expert input. I look forward to your call over the coming hours/days to discuss further and learn from such a knowledgeable other. Please don't leave it too long as I would like to start implementing them before next weekends training/fixtures. Regards Mark Leah 07875596798
  9. Hi Magpie & all interested parties I'm very willing and offering my help to support clubs with obtaining funds and pointing in the right direction. There is a planned (soon to be advertised) workshop on 2nd August at CCFA office. In the meantime feel free to private message me and we can see what you need and help. There is a great pdf booklet on the CCFA website under the funding section, compilling all funding offers and ideas. This is rare and not been done by many if any county FAs so well done Cornwall FA for this. Cheers Mark
  10. Both clubs have asked for a Saturday fixture, (granted culdrose may not have like this one) but both told no, the fixture cannot be moved!!! Charles is a Saint.....🤣🟡⚫️👑
  11. Such a shame that the date was not used for the Supp Cup Final...but obviously a Wendesday night is better for everyone!!!🙈
  12. I am deeply sadden by this news, as this man became such a friend, and someone who I could ring for advice on what to do with our pitch. Although the 5 minute call would turn into nearly an hour, I always felt more knowledgeable after our chats. He always said to me, I will pass on my knowledge to you, if you agree to keep passing it on to others, and that is something I have and will always continue to do when it comes to grassroots pitches. I am very honoured to know the man that produced the very best pitches around and won the awards to go with it. He never changed and god help you if you warmed up on his pitch or even looked at the goal mouth...he was watching you and ready to tell you to get off!!!!haha So many stories and memories, and as Rappo says he was determined to fight until the end and he most certainly did that. RIP Batesy...gone but never forgotten😥
  13. 🚨MASSIVE ANNOUNCEMENT🚨 Saints hit the jackpot and after 7 years the main part of our ReVamP of VP will be completed. We've only bloody done it after all this time...... Last week we were finally granted the much needed, extra £300,000 required to build the extension, double garage, committee room and new changing rooms and we are delighted to share that news with you. Back in 2015 the project would have cost £80,000 but with the inflation it now stands at a huge £365,000. We secured £50k from Sport England back in 2019, we have fundraised, applied for small funding pots and with club funds and volunteering hours it equates to £15k but that meant we were £300,000 short. Thanks to the Premier League Stadium Improvement Fund (PLSIF) granting £50k it left us seeking £250k from the Football Foundation, which last Wednesday they accepted our hard work, detailed plans, quotation, desire for our community and granted us the money, which means we can start!!🙆‍♂️ It shows that if you want something enough, continue to fight for it.👊 We would like to take this time to thank many people that have got it to this stage so far: Ross Andrew (FF) Lee Rider (Regional officer of The FF) Daniel Greenough (CCFA) Paul Bearham (South West Community Builds) Dave Jose (Architectual Consult Ltd) St Day Youth & Sports Association Sport England PLSIF It certainly was a Jubilee weekend for all Saints and all did celebrate, but now its time to share the news with all of you and request some help and support and start the hard work. What we require now is across the project £10,000 worth of free labour from everyone possible. We are not holding back and wasting anymore time. Starting THIS Saturday (11th June), we will require as many of you to be at the club at 8.30am where site managers will give a safety briefing and then start knocking down walls, ceilings, removing rubble etc of the existing changing rooms. Saturday is the start of a lot of help needed Who can be there? Free BBQ at lunchtime Let’s help YOUR club to have the best facilities around 🖤💛🖤💛🖤
  14. No worries, I sent an email as well at the time of posting. Regards Mark
  15. Dave we would have offered Vogue Park, but we are already hosting 3 Kernow League Finals and 2 County Matches. Could we do another date, maybe the week before?? I appreciate it's Easter Sunday but could do a 11am KO as to not clash with the Combo Cup Final? Regards Mark
