  1. It possibly could have, but understood the reasons why it wasn’t. I’d say players on both sides 50/50 as well.
  2. Excuse for what? Both sets of players were there ready and the ref called it off.. Not every club is a small club in the context or our league. Can hardly compare a club like ours to a Torpoint, Blazey, Waderidge etc
  3. We had requested the pitch was cut during the week but due to matters out of our control it wasn’t. Unfortunately we’re a small club and rely on local people to help out, we don’t have our own maintenance facilities to hand. In the morning we notified St Columb and the league conditions weren’t great as the grass/growth would make life pretty difficult. We were advised that the ref would have to make the final call so prepared as normal and let St Columb know previous to them travelling it was out of our hands and up to the ref on inspection. With both teams present the ref decided he wasn’t happy for the game to go ahead. Pretty much it.
  4. We did make the club aware prior that we wouldn’t be stopping on this occasion to save Roche having to provide hospitality for us, which has always been great. We always stop for a beer win, lose or draw.
  5. That rule makes no sense, if correct. How can you premeditate shortening the first half just incase the second is abandoned due to an unforeseen circumstance?! Rules are rules, however I hope common sense prevails here.
  6. St Minver 1-3 Foxhole Arguably deserved win for the visitors, wanted it more that’s for sure. Gracious winners, arguably not. Smashed windows in the away changing room and no show after the game for good measure. Waste of food and effort on our behalf for a side that are usually great guests.
  7. Odd one.. accounts differ depending on who you ask and on which side of the fence you sit, but this is how I saw it. Player/Manager had previously been sin binned for something they believed to be fairly innocuous, not too sure of the exact offence. Early in the second half there was a further disagreement between the ref and Player/Manager whilst he was inactive on the sideline, he was cautioned for his troubles. After laughing at the ref and some further chit chat the yellow was upgraded to a red. Offending player refused to leave despite numerous requests and from what I could hear was using some fairly antagonising language towards the ref (not swearing I might add, but it looked confrontational). From there game was abandoned.

  11. This happened to us.. Player in question had been at the club for 4 years, named on the team sheet, match was even filmed and he came on for 5 minutes after return from a lengthy injury. No intent to cheat and a completely honest mistake, however 3 points deducted. I believe an appeal wouldn't be of use as 'rules are rules' in this case unfortunately.
  12. Ref was Gary Cornish, certainly the best ref I've encountered. Thanks for the game today, was thoroughly enjoyable and as you said, played in the right spirit. Hope you gents have a successful season.
  13. The referee room is currently under construction as I type. The changing bench and plumbing have been installed just needs finishing off.
  14. Shaun Heywood for St Minver reserves is 51 and playing 90 minutes every week!
