Ludgvan Feast Monday 26th Jan 2014

Recommended Posts

To be honest I don't know how referees have so much patience! Things are bad when instead of wanting the ball and trying to get the better of the culdrose left back, the young right side player for Ludgvan shouted at the very helpful guy fetching the ball, to slow down returning it!

I would say about 50 attendance!

I'm not quite sure how Culdrose finished the game with 11 players on the pitch!

Having a referee with Culdrose connections does help, although he is one of the best around

No doubt a few heavy tackles..
Was one of culdrose's stronger sides I would of guessed... Number 9 up top causing problems.
End to end game where final third was poor.
Motm would be Ludgvan captain.. Solid game at the back.

Yes agree S Abbo, a little feisty at times and their no 9 always looked as if he might cause a problem to the Ludgvan defence. However you're a player so tell me why do so many players have to get involved in a scuffle, sometimes running 40 yards or so to get there?

Are you suggesting a referee might not be neutral?

I'd never suggest that with George! Just a tongue in cheek comment.

Sometimes I would say that's togetherness... But I know what you mean.. All Ludgvan players came out of no where... Maybe they get it from there manager.. Not sure what that was about half time.

Congratulations to Ludgvan for there hard fought win yesterday, although I think a draw would have been a fair result. The only downside on the day for me was the anti Royal Navy and Armed Forces in general remarks we had to endure in the away dug out from the Ludgvan management. I have been involved in local football for over 30 years and those sort of remarks used to be commonplace. I would like to think that we have moved on from those days and with organisations such as Help for Heroes the public opinion of the armed forces has changed. Obviously not in Ludgvan though!

George patt is one of the, if not thee best in the combo standard of referees, fact!! Having played a lot better standard than most on here, especially in local football, he lets common sense prevail and unless some one makes a leg breaking challenge or gives him a load of mouth, then realistically a good talking too too and a yellow does the trick. He always gets respect from players as he will talk too them and explain his decisions (not that he has too of course). A lot of refs could learn from this man

Yeah agree with Neil, had George reffing a few games I've played in over the years and he's been excellent every time!! And that's from someone who had a few bruises off George in his tough tackling playing days! Wish a few more good ex players would follow the likes of Lee Mitchell and take up the whistle. Lee reffed the Senior Cup final last season and was superb! Great way of staying involved in the game as well (apart from the unnecessary grief). #support the refs!

Both Ludgvan and St Just in the dim distant past have played "Select" sides on their feast days. I was fortunate to play at both places on feast day and enjoyed the liquid hospitality that followed these games perhaps I may suggest that the St just feast day offered a greater quantity of lubrication, anyway both were days that I really enjoyed
