St. Day 1, Illogan 2.

Pitch was fine - all credit to the St Day club for their pre-match efforts: and the two teams warmed up on the other pitch (I'd've warmed up in the dressing room!). The wind played a part but didn't spoil it too much. Not a classic game but the result was about right. Steve Annis reffed it - far cry from Southern League Premier but he enjoys himself where ever he is! I counted 84 spectators - did 4 more creep in uncounted? Illogan went 1 up, nice goal, St Day equalised with an even better one, very nicely carved out classic cross from the right wing to the far post to be headed in, then Illogan went ahead again after a brilliant save by the St Day 'keeper was let down by a very poor clearance that led to the scrappy goal. 1 - 2 at half time. Nice to see Kevin Lawrence there (Penryn's game postponed) and Carharrack's Richard Chown, plus Illogan's Lester Thomas now obviously fully mended!

Happy New Year to all!

Wendron 3-4 St Ives. Too many sloppy mistakes cost us today, in saying that St Ives pressed us quickly, wanted to win every tackle, and threw everything on the line when defending during our intense pressure during the last 25 minutes. Overall I must say that St Ives deserved the points!

Newquay1_0 Hayle a goal down inside 7 mins from a free kick given against Hayle for a player running into the. Defender and bouncing off him ,with the resultant free kick into the box a header at the back post sealed the win !to be fair Hayle looked as if to much Xmas celebrations had been had in the first half but the second half was all Hayle ,with one ruled out for offside and one disputed goaline clearance, good crowd at Mount Wise and were made very welcolme as normal well reffed don't know his name and first time I have seen him played in good spirits ,Hayle with some missing due to injuries and work commitments, but this happens to all clubs over the season , onwards to next week when Hayle have the away trip to St,Austell in the senior cup ,looking forward to this one and who knows maybe another cup upset what ever happens on the day it will be a great day out good luck lads

Keith B this was a crazy game!! One for the neutrals!!

Some great goals from both sides.

This was a proper game, end to end with both sides going at each other. The pitch wasn't the easiest, with damp conditions, it started to cut up, but both sides tried to play football.

St just went 1-0 up after about 5 minutes

H/T 0-1

2nd half started with perran on top and went 2-1 up with roughly 10 minutes gone

This fired St just up who went up a gear and within 10-15 minutes went 4-2 up, and Perran heads started to drop.

However anything the Tinners could do, we could match and Perran fought back to draw level with 10 to go. 4-4

St just went 4-5 up with a couple of minutes left.

Dying moments of injury time Perran force a corner and the ball falls to Chris Shackley who fires past Andrew Curnow into top corner 5-5

Amazing game

Only low point was Neil Stephens going off with a messy finger/hand after a Matt Lane strike. Dislocated finger, broken finger and fractured Knuckle!
