Rosudgeon folding!
stevieb replied to Dave Deacon's topic in Kernow Stone St Piran Lge EAST divisions 2, 3 & 4
Keith sad , but I'm afraid many Penwith clubs over the past 20 plus years have gone , my old club Longrock housing development now being built on it ☹, Sennen , Madron , Marazion , Gulval , Heamoor , now Rosudgeon , probably some I have missed . Ludgvan had 3 teams , so did Mousehole and Penzance , Longrock had 3 at one stage , there was then the West Penwith league and Amor shield , plus cups , Marazion cub , Reynolds cup plus a few others , progressive sides joined the mining league Longrock included which we rose up to mining one my claim to fame getting us promoted to division one , then when we went up a lot of players exited to join their mates at another club , this was the beginning of the end for Longrock from 3 teams down to 2 then one , hardest day football wise was calling an extraordinary meeting then finding only 3 of us were prepared to do all the work and there wasn't enough players to fulfil the fixtures we folded , I was in tears but it wasnt the end , I had to inform league , fa ect , gutted. The team the majority left for went on for a few more seasons but alas they are no more . Players have always jumped ship , and they dont care for clubs just themselves, but the amount of teams they can go to is shrinking very quickly , very sad sympathy for Rosudgeon and all involved, I always remember having to put 20p in the meter outside the changing room to get hot showers , that was fun especially the tight wads trying to not pay 😁😁😁, , Good luck in the future . -

World Cup fixture at Bickland Park
stevieb replied to Quiet Man's topic in The #CornishFootball Main Discussion Board
Selection is probably down to who is intrested first and then some training , trials . Ect , I'm not sure though how many are actually Cornish or just live in Cornwall, now this point can cause more discussions , I know this one is a bit of a bug bearer in walking football the FA doesnt recognise county / country so another group walking football association runs representative sides for county and country teams , but your club has to be affiliated to this group for club members to be picked , it has so many England representative sides its causes no end of debate on various forums . 😯 -
World Cup fixture at Bickland Park

Sorry these names are not familiar to myself , probably due to following my local club Hayle , and also lots of grassroots fans following their town , village teams are probably in the same boat , not everyone supports the higher placed clubs in Cornwall . -

Grants and funds available for Clubs?
stevieb replied to THEMAGPIE's topic in The #CornishFootball Main Discussion Board
For some funds your club needs to have accreditation, trying to do this for our walking football team ( Penwith Nomads ) at present , you have to have in place a committee with named roles eg chair, vice chair , treasurer, coach , first aiders, welfare officer, ect submit your treasurer report eg in and outs , expenses ect , state you hold committee meetings , you can find the link on players register ( whole game system ) , currently part way through ours , the so called tick box exercise is there trying to help clubs and probably stop fraud , anyone with computer skills ( mine are limited) can do this , it even let's you know which ones aren't completed . Ps we are trying to get funds / help towards a set of 12 x 6 goals , we train at Penzance astro park on a Monday night , and the hockey club whose ground it is let's us use their goals ( training) is very generous of them . Hope this helps Steve Bailey. -

I miss him to met him a few times at Penryn a proper football man , the standing joke of when he cooked the after match food his fag Ash was all over it hence he served fag Ash and chips 😀, good sense of humour, but very knowledgeable and Penryn lost a star when he passed , never minced his words but his thoughts on local football were spot on , we spoke of lack of volunteers, players apathy , youth football, lack of supporters watching games , players not having a few drinks after a game , ect ect , great conversations , always looked out for him when I went to Penryn , weight were the only 2 silly sods watching Penryn v Hayle at Hayle on the 3g when the heavens opened and several left at half time , we were drowned rats . This page is a great tribute and many know older a lot better than me , but he left a hole in Cornish football when he passed . RIP

The West Division ko today ,with the first round of games at Camborne college 2pm ko , played over 3 sessions, 7 teams entered, if you are intrested in playing football over 50s but can no longer play vets , 5 a side ,, maybe due to age / injury this maybe a way of prolonging your football career, come along and have a look or go on the ccfa website , men and women, no contact , no running, play football the way we all wanted to play pass and move , basically 5 a side rules without the physical contact , teams all over Cornwall from competitive football to those that wants some exercise, social interaction. Give it ago what have you got to lose , make more friends, gets you away from the TV , Cheers Steve Bailey .

Sorry to hear about your fybromyalgia, majority of cases are women for some reason , so you are in a bonus group, people ask or see what it is and say oh I get pain , or aches , lol , fatigue ( chronic) pain excruciating any part of the body , fluctuations of body temp , simple tasks can become out of reach , fybro fog not being able to understand simple instructions, or trouble with getting words out or in the wrong order , anxiety, unable to concentrate, sleep for hours then feel like you haven't slept for a week , I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy , yes no cure , no they still dont know if its nerve damage , brain impules ect ect , it will take a long time to get the right pain medication to help , it doesnt completely take it away , oh yes I have it , there are a couple of very helpful Facebook groups West Cornwall fybromyalgia and Cornwall fybromyalgia , I thought I had the start of dementia, I have had pain for years , including when I was still doing the line could hardly move the day after , went to the Doctor loads of times , luckily one day a locum was in checked my notes said this has been going g on to long got me an appointment at rheumatology, and got my diagnosis, i was the same as you didn't have a clue , good luck , there is plenty of support but unless you have a doctor clued up on it dont expect much from them , just keep badgering, to get the treatment you need , you can PM but i dont come on here very often , Ps I'm on 15 painkillers a day , lol i rattle . -
EASTER WEEKEND FIXTURES
stevieb replied to Ian Anear's topic in Kernow Stone St Piran League Premier & Division 1 EAST & WEST
Hayle 1-0 Falmouth res , good win , approx 35 watching entertaining game , home side deserved winners, 2nd half mainly played in the opposition half , but couldn't add to the goals , young players on display for both sides , if Joe and the team can add maybe a couple of experienced players for next season to help the young players it will be a good season , some very promising youngsters for Hayle. Pitch looking fantastic well done Simon , one downside though is no sign of the stand being rebuilt yet , and since the 3g being built no replacement of Eric Woods stand on the opposite half way line , fingers crossed can both be replaced for next season .
