  1. Match report for Porthleven vs Dobwalls... https://dobwallsfootball.club/2020/12/13/porthleven-v-dobwalls-12-12-20/
  2. My kids and I were stood in the shed end with the F Troop contingent. We were however fully adorned in our Dobwalls accoutrements... I have to give full respect to the troop for the respectful nature they treated me and my kids. If the language got fruity, a few of the troop would apologise and pass the message along that the kids were there and to calm it... in fairness my 2 have probably heard worse at home 😂😂 and we weren't bothered, none the less much respect for that. When the guy with the drum started going he gave me fair warning for the kids so they could put their fingers in their ears, same with the airhorns. The music from the Troops PA system added some entertainment, although thankfully the battery failed half way through the 2nd half. The banter and the conversation was great. I told my 6yo daughter this is how football should be. When my kids got home they were buzzing, not only at the win, but by the atmosphere generated by the away fans. A hearty BZ to the F Troop and long may it continue... CC
  3. Afraid not, but there appears to be some confusion over the scoreline, SWPL website reporting a 3-0 victory for 'Walls'
  4. I would argue a touch unfair to the management team. Maybe their opposition's reputation 'clouded' the pre match prep and eventual starting formation, when they stuck 3 across the middle after the sending off, it suited the players a little better I thought. They took the game to Bodmin then.
  5. Forgive me Mr Deacon, my hyperbole should have included the phrase 'with a exasperated why?'. I appreciate there may have been alot of discussion on sin binning, I understand the reasons you can get put in the bin, and appreciate why it's tried to be implemented... but the game last night... it was the cherry on an otherwise bland and tasteless cake
  6. One of the worst games of football I have ever witnessed. It was simply a training session for Bodmin. The lack of competitiveness really showed. Callington appeared to have rocked up to defend but they showed too much respect and couldn't keep hold of or pass a ball throughout the 1st 45 minutes. I only knew Bodmin had a keeper coz' he was mentioned on the team sheet. The referee was inconsistent at best. I observed my 1st sin binning of the season and was left questioning 'why'? Why sin bin the player? Why have sin bins at all? In fairness to Callington, although they had been playing like they've had 10 men from the 1st minute, when they did go to 10 men they played much better, even fashioning some chances. The game was disjointed, one sided and predominantly lack lustre from beginning to end. If this passes as step 6 football, it's going to be a very long season...
  7. Dobwalls Football Club are pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Westlake as their 1st team manager. Chairman Matt Thornhill said of the appointment "this is a great opportunity for both Simon and Dobwalls Football Club. Simon comes to us with an abundance of knowledge, skill and determination that will push us on and off the pitch. Simon's enthusiasm for the role and his understanding of what we are trying to achieve here at Lantoom Park should not be underestimated, this is hopefully the start of the revolution to bring success to our Peninsula team" The new manager said "This is a very exciting position. I am keen to build positive relationships and build successful seasons both on and off the pitch" This Saturday's home League Cup tie against Newton Abbot Spurs the team will be lead by caretaker manager Mark Jones. 11. Dobwalls Football Club are pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Holman to the position of 1st team manager. Craig joins Dobwalls FC with a wealth of knowledge and experience gained in local Cornish football, having been joint manager of East Cornwall side Lanreath for a number of seasons. He also brings vast experience from both being involved in the management teams of St Austell when in the South Western League and Minehead FC when in the Western League. Craig also played a role in St Austell's management team, assisting Phil Lafferty in their Senior Cup win in the 2013/14 season. The Dobwalls Football Club Committee has taken a long and considered process in appointing the right person to the role of 1st team manager and are enormously excited by the ambition and enthusiasm shown by Craig. Dobwalls FC Chairman Adrian Jackson said: “We are enormously excited and pleased to appoint Craig to the role of First team manager. It has been a long and difficult process, with many outstanding candidates applying for the role. We feel that Craig, with his mixture of experience and local footballing knowledge, will bring a freshness and a vitality to Dobwalls FC that will ultimately lead to success on the pitch” Since February, Mark Jones has been caretaker manager for Dobwalls. The club owe Mark a great deal of gratitude for the service, loyalty and commitment shown, in a trying and congested season. It is hoped that Mark will stay on and assist Craig in the transition
