Trelawny Div 4
Lizard Reserves 0-0 Frogpool Reserves
A rather poor game, but was contested in good spirits by both teams.
No real clear cut chances.
88th minute Lizard were down to ten men after a terrible challenge.
Best of luck to Lizard though the majority of them were decent lads.

Division 1

Newlyn NA 1 (0) -v- (0) 1 Lizard

Top of the table clash finishes all square. Newlyn took the lead with a well taken penalty a few minutes into the second half. Lizard equalised with a bit of a scramble 10 minutes from time (I was quite far away, so apologies if it was a well taken goal, just lobbed in from a free kick on the halfway line, bobbed around and seemed to pop up and end up going into the net). Lizard hit the crossbar twice (once in each half) with great strikes. Did not see all 90 minutes (missed the start of the first half after travelling all the way to Clijah to take on Carharrack Res, only time find out that the pitch we were supposed to be playing on was now hosting two other teams - bummer -  so drove back to watch this game), but I do understand that Newlyn had a couple of good chances near the start.

Overall then, probably a fair result.

St Agnes  1 - Camborne Park 2

Tough game today not just because we knew after st agnes beat us earlier in season that their a tidy outfit, but when reece prout, malcolm nicholls, jordan day and pete norfolk was all unavailable it would mean a few positional changes and just before leaving kieren rowe pulled out unwell we still had 12 with 2 players on their debuts who both performed very well.

Marcus grasso and Mike catterall got our goals both fantastic finishes showing their quality should have had few more to be honest last ditch tackles from st agnes who defended their goal admirably and keeper making some great saves and couple goal line clearances denying matt osborn on couple times a debut goal. Other new signing kerryn grasso was constant threat with some probing runs and getting some good crosses in from the left these too will end up being very good signings for the club i'm sure.

Also we all at camborne park wish the lad who went off in the ambulance a speedy recovery with the hip problem, st agnes top bunch of blokes and nice spread after the game best luck to them rest of season :)

Frogpool/Cusgarne 1 Illogan 3's 3.

Tough game today against junior cup semi finalists, we had a stroke of luck early doors, a quick counter attack saw Seymour break through and only a fantastic last ditch tackle denied him unfortunately for the home side the only guy in the ground who thought it was a foul was the ref, Tom himself tucking the penalty away, let's hope it evens itself up during the season. A midfield battle ensued with a few half chances though nothing too exciting both teams counselling each other out.
Half time 0-1

Second half and we all knew the next goal was crucial, it came our way early doors Richie Ward finding an unmarked debutant Bryn Wheeler who left the keeper Sat on his arse. This woke frogpool up and they put us under pressure getting a deserved goal when we failed to clear our lines and a shot found the bottom corner, they also put in some cracking corners one of which was somehow cleared of the line. Then on the break we closed the game out, wheeler bursting through and crossing for Richie Ward to finish from a tight angle. Only frogpools third defeat and we wish them all the best next week. For us if we only had this squad when the season started, 1 win and 4 defeats when I came in :-( we may not win the league but we'll have a say on who does :-) x

Pendeen Rovers 1 v 1 Mullion Reserves.

Pendeen left the ground scratching their heads, wondering how they never won.

The game started at a fast pace,m Mullion, having the first chance after 3 mins, the ball safely cleared by the Pendeen defence. Pendeen's first chance came after 5 mins, Chris Bullocks 35 yard shot hitting the post, a brilliant shot, unlucky not to score. 4 mins later Pendeen scored Dom Clemmens playing the ball square for Chris Bullock to score. After that Pendeen threw everything at Mullion, missed so many easy chances.

1-0 half time.

The second half again Pendeen started the stronger, but could not score. To be fair Mullion never gave up, making it very hard work for Pendeen to break them down. Mullion started to grow in confidence catching Pendeen on the counter attack.

Pendeen gave away a stone cold penalty with 4 mins left to play, no complaints from any of the Pendeen players or managers.

The final score was 1-1.

MOM for Pendeen: Kyle who was solid in Mid-field.

Such a shame not to see any of the Mullion boys afterwards for a beer.

Good luck to them for the rest of the season.

Div 2

Sennen 2-2 Marazion

Probably our worse game of the season. Sennen started the brighter and put us under pressure early on but we grew into the game and had the majority of the play but failed to make the right decisions at the right time. Sennen threw themselves into everything and battled for every ball and clearly wanted it more than we did. 0-0 at half time although we did have a few chances but were unable to beat Scott May in goal.

Second half we came alive a bit but still nowhere near the level we have played in the past. Steve Hunt opened the scoring 15 mins after the re-start, hitting the ball with the outside of his left boot on the volley which saw it lift over the keeper and into the back of the net. Sennen came back and after Kevin Waite failed to hold on to a free kick, the Sennen player played it back into the box and their midfielder rose unchallenged to head in the equaliser with about 10 to go. We changed the formation to a more attacking one and Liam Mooney put us back in front, sweeping the ball past May after a good move down the right hand side. With minutes left we were punished when allowing their centre back to turn in the box and he lifted the ball over Kevin to equalise for the second time.

After the game we had plenty of excuses, poor ref, poor pitch, lack of character, too much moaning but it all boils down to not playing well enough....end of. Credit to Sennen, hard working team who wanted it more......

Newlyn Lions 5-0 Storm Reserves

With several players out with injury or illness and two players making their debuts who had not played for a couple of seasons, we started the game with a very different line up than normal. But luckily we have a decent squad who will play wherever is needed and take one for the team.

The first half was a pretty tough 45 to watch and with the pitch getting progressively worse our usual tidy football wasn't going to work. Neither side looked like scoring until Henry Monk gambled on a long throw that sailed through the crowded area and smashed the ball home from 6 inches. The young lad is rather deadly from that range.

We changed things a little at half time and came out with a lot more purpose. We controlled the half, scoring a few more, with our skipper Leigh Allen finally getting off the mark for the season.

The guys from Storm battled well but seemed more interested in arguing amongst themselves at times, which was a shame from their point of view as they didn't really deserve the scoreline. A much improved team from previous seasons who will cause teams plenty of trouble if they can stop the arguing on the pitch.

Best of luck to you lads for the rest of the season.

Mawnan 2-3 Mousehole (ht 1-1)

Mousehole Scorers: Jamie Simons, Joe Davies & Ben Luck

Deserved 3 points for Mousehole.  They were on their game from the start and we never got ourselves going.  Thought we may escape with a point till a late penalty settled it.

With us and Carharrack losing and West Cornwall/Holmans winning it's tightened things up at the top of the Premier again, which will make for a competitive second half to the season.  Some very good teams in the chasing pack too.

Div 5-
Falmouth DC 3-1 Wendron 4ths

Good result after recent Results, 3 points picked up which was Need . Some good Football at times but many chances missed which could of made the score line higher but that's football. Pitch was not the best at Dracena avenue which made it hard to move the ball and player football for both sides . But 3 well worked Goals won us the game In the End , not the best defensive game from us today but fair play play to Wendron came and coursed us problems . Good luck for rest of season!

Newbridge Athletic A-A Railway Locomotiv

After several weeks with no game Newbridge were glad to finally get a game going, however started very slowly giving Railway more time and space on the ball than they should have. Railway had a few chances early on but were unable to capitalize from them. Perhaps their best chance coming from a player breaking through the defence with only the keeper to beat, but Newbridge keeper Aaron Jones came out to narrow the angle of the effort for the Railway player to scuff his chance and put it well wide. Newbridge got themselves going then and started to look the better team. Newbridge got a corner and from there they got the lead, the corner swung in and Ben Montgomery got the shot through the defence but the keeper made a good save only for James Tregay to make it to the rebound first to give Newbridge the lead with a carefully placed shot back over the keeper.

Railway then fighting to get back into the game had another chance with the ball swept across the box but Aaron Jones held onto the ball well to make the save only for the striker to come in quite late and kick him in the back of the head. The referee didn't deem it deliberate so kept his cards in his pocket. Newbridge made a quick change due to midfielder Ben loosing his laces in one of his boots after a tackle and were caught off guard, Railway equalised right after the substitution. Half-time 1-1.

Second half the teams started fairly even but it was Newbridge who had the better chances. Some early corners came close to re-taking the lead but Railway defence and keeper did just enough. With about 65 minutes gone Railway thought they had gone in front from a free-kick swung in and the Railway player headed in past Aaron with the referee giving the goal. In the meantime Kyle Jones was lying on the floor with blood pouring out of his head. The Railway player had looked where kyle was before he jumped and in jumping swung his elbow back into Kyle's head as hard as he could to leave him lying on the floor. The ref gave the goal having not seen the incident but on protest from Newbridge players he reversed his decision and sent the player off. An ambulance was called for Kyle and the game was then abandoned with the score at 1-1. Kyle had 5 stitches in his head but is recovering well.

Thank you to the Railway team member who called the ambulance you are a credit to your team and for those who were concerned for his well being, as for the some of the others crowding the ref to let the goal stand, claiming he did nothing wrong and mouthing off well you are a disgrace.

Having seen the incident happen in the Newbridge game from a distance I was quite surprised that the ref could disallow the goal and then send the player off for an incident he obviously didn't see until he was made aware of the incident by the Newbridge players? Strange one, also Aaron I'm surprised by your write up as we played Railway the week before and in beating them quite heavily we had no issues from any of them at any point and it didn't appear to be a nasty game during the spell I saw. Anyways just my opinion and hope Kyle is ok, there seems to be a lot of team bashing going on at present in write ups which is a shame, let's just remember that we play the game for enjoyment and it seems a shame that there seems to be some negativity creeping into match reports, perhaps we should all focus on the game and why we play every Saturday. Once again just my opinion and looking forward to seeing you at malpas in a couple of weeks Aaron! At least the scare will make your brother look a little bit harder now 😀😀 cheers

The game wasn't that bad bar those two incidents Elliot but every game is different. Yes the ref perhaps shouldn't have sent him off having not seen the incident happen. I can only believe he went on the way Kyle was on the floor lets just say it wasn't a pretty site and he has a nasty cut because of it. As a said in the write up some of their team were very supportive and even called the ambulance not slating the whole team just a few of them.

Can someone tell me why the froogpool vs gwinear game is off in div 4 on sat plz??

On referring to FA Full Time Trelawny it  looks like it's been postponed at Frogpool's request so they can support the first team who have an important Junior Cup match

They shouldn't be allowed to do that!!!!! Towards the end of every season there's always a backlog of games... Some are excuseble and un-preventable due to weather affecting the pitches throughout the season. To postpone a game so you can watch another game is ridiculous, regardless of the competition etc. Maybe I'm speaking out of turn here but how is that an acceptable excuse?

I think it's great that the club are showing unity and getting behind each other. Frogpool have done really well To get this far and should celebrate the occasion.
Our first team are in the senior cup 1/4, I can't speak for the whole club, but it would be great if we could get that Saturday off or move our kick off times earlier in the day so we can support our first team and celebrate their achievements.

Yeah it's a really good achievement, I don't question that at all.... It's just the fact that games are being called off even though there is usually an issue towards the end of the season. I fully understand why they'd want to go and support them, I also appreciate that they've gone down the correct and appropriate route instead of cancelling on a Friday saying they can't raise a side or something... I like the fact I get a Saturday off, I work away from home five days a week so get to spend a day with my 6 week old... But I look towards the end of the season where I personally can't make the backlog of midweek games, where we will struggle to get all our players available, yet games have been postponed until the end. Obviously I wish them all the luck to progress but I just think you've gotta look at the bigger picture. It's not been as bad as last season by any means so hopefully the backlog will be minimal :)

I think it's a great idea. With this being the biggest game in the club's history it's nice for everyone to come together and support the team. I hope Wendron manage to sort something out so they can get a few people to watch their first team in the Senior Cup. I can understand your frustration Dange'rous because there will inevitably be midweek games at the end of the season where teams will struggle to get a full side, but that's junior football I guess, especially at this level. I think we are lucky that we haven't had as many games called off, although the weather doesn't look good at the moment.

What are the rules regarding postponing games like this? We only used to be able to do it for weddings really, but surly this now opens up the floodgates for many more club events on a sat...? It'll be interesting to see just what you can in advance postpone a game for?

Also who decides where the junior cup neutral games get played? A vote? Behind closed doors 'agreement'? Has the area final and further more main final already been allocated a venue?
