CCFA Suspension Process

Recommended Posts

Can anyone explain to me how an original 2 game ban for 2 yellow cards can turn into a 6 game ban on appeal? Now I understand that an appeal can go one of two ways but seriously, 6 games! Just because a club has the temerity to question the paragons of virtue at the CCFA ; they followed due process, wrote a detailed letter and in no way questioned the sending off, just the wording of the Officials statement. It seems just because the Referee wrote effectively what he wanted the report to read and not the actual course of events, then it's his word v the Club. If someone from CCFA could explain it to me I would be most grateful.

I very much doubt you will get someone from the CCFA on here, try their website which has a contacts tab.

I personally think the 6 game ban is a bit excessive, but even in the professional game if you appeal you are taking a chance of the ban being lengthened.

What was said in the report and what happened on the day? If you are willing to come on here to highlight what has happened I'm sure you can shed some light on the facts so we can all give a response rather than speculating, which is what you are currently doing.

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe the appeal process has changed and you no longer need video evidence. You just need evidence in the form of statements from anyone who was at the ground on that day. This is why the referee's report had to be full of detail to paint a true picture of what happend (in their opinion).

Why did you appeal when you are not questioning the sending off? a failure in the appeal process will mean an increased ban everyone knows that! But yes, 4 extra games does seem a bit much.

what was the offence?

Well I am in the process of an accusation from a referee in which I threatened or assaulted him. This by the way is an unbelievable fabrication of the events that day in which he booked me after talking to him, in turning around he threatened me so I responded by swearing. I have accepted the red card even though I'm not happy about it but if his lie is accepted then financially and in football terms it's a disgrace.

If you admit to swearing at the referee then a red card is (or should be) inevitable as the "respect" thread on this forum has pointed out time and again. If this official did indeed threaten you or otherwise behaved improperly I believe your only form of redress is to speak with your Football Secretary before he puts in his report so that he can address the problem and score tha Referee accordingly (depending, of course, on his performance during the remainder of the match).

One has to say that it depends on the incident - at Torpoint v Pensilva we had five red cards - three where not constestablale given the interesting reports - though very doubtful - but by the letter of LOAF correct - the other two we contested and won by Torpoint - as always you kick off when you are winning five nil

The CCFA are not a "secret society" BIG AL.From the days when it was basically run by one person, they have made big strides to be more open and approachable,a fact which will be backed up by many club secretaries and club officials throughout Cornwall.

Richard is relatively new to Cornwall but he,and his predecessor Jo,have always been there to answer any questions in a straightforward and open manner.

I would also like to confirm that Richard Pallot is a real 'find' by CCFA - whilst he has to impose the rules and laws of the game he is a genuine 'gentleman' when dealing with clubs and players, plenty of common sense and extremely realistic in his approach.

Have to agree with you on this one. I have only met him once when he was training referees to use the Whole Game System. Very approachable and very good at explaining things.

A top man indeed. Definitely Devon FA's loss. He is the kind of guy that could help change CCFA archaic ways and push Cornish football in the right direction.
