  1. Definitely at Saltash on Sunday. Looking forward to the match and a bonus avoiding that Canadian version of a chilli for the after match grub.
  2. Both teams did their best on what was an awful pitch today. More possession from the Torpoint lads in the first half but Biscovey taking a 2-0 lead with some well taken goals from Liam Turner who is normally between the sticks for us! Torpoint managed to level up before the break, so fair play on their endeavour. I thought we were reasonably comfortable at 2-0 but Torpoint don’t lie down. Second half was a very even affair and probably the best chances to nick it fell to Biscovey, but it wasn’t to be. Great last ditch tackle from the away skipper when it looked like a certain goal. Probably a fair result in the end. Shame about the ridiculous sending off for our holding midfielder near the end, but no question he had to go for an elbow into the chest of the Torpoint defender. See you guys again in a few weeks for the return fixture at Torpoint.
  3. Our team was quite different to the one we had last week up St Mawgan. We didn’t have a striker and had to sign players on last minute. We only had 10 players yesterday evening. Sad state of affairs I’m afraid, so it’s no wonder we were crap. Shame we can’t get the same committed squad every week, but it seems to be a problem with grass roots football nowadays. St Stephen on the other hand have this in abundance and it shows. Very well organised team and Coady was clinical as ever. I wish them well in the Junior Cup match.
  4. Duchy Prem St Mawgan 0-2 Biscovey A deserved win today in my opinion and a very organised and disciplined display. St Mawgan just couldn’t break us down and we created some excellent chances ourselves. Goals from Jimmy Penhall and Wayne Hoole.
  5. A bit harsh on St Dennis saying that. Always had good sides but have probably lost players at times throughout the season. Which has happened with us at Biscovey. After a promising start in September we’ve gone to rat shit and the exodus has ruined us. Got some new players signed on but haven’t played in almost 3 months!! Of the teams I’ve played against this season I think Sticker have impressed me most. Great club, great set-up! Grosey I think it’s time we concentrate on just Veterans league old pal. ‘Tis a young mans game on a Saturday now! Sticker being a prime example. Good to see my old club Lostwithiel doing so well. I think we are the only team to have inflicted defeat on them so far this season? My good mate Billy still churning out ‘De Gea’ type performances week in, week out! What I do believe is that this is the strongest Premier Division I’ve seen for a long time. Very competitive and some cracking players on show. Most teams would be fine in East Cornwall 1. Let’s hope the rain buggers off and we can all pull the boots on again!
  6. Veryan 2 - 5 Biscovey Excellent playing surface and some fast pace football being played by both sides. Richard Griffin with all 5 goals for Biscovey who was immense on the night. Derrick Lucas and Damon Mulready (pen) for Veryan if my memory serves me right. Great game to be involved in and some top grub afterwards!
  7. I agree with what MattP said, it should be a 2 up, 2 down scenario. I can't understand why that isn't the case. I do feel for Nanpean and especially those young players who will face demoralising results every week. No good for their confidence. Better suited to starting in the bottom league of Duchy league and rebuilding from there.
  8. Biscovey are looking for an away friendly tomorrow night (Tuesday 15th August) or this coming Saturday. We've just been cancelled for tomorrow night, so hoping someone can step in to host us. Give me a shout, cheers. Ryan 07876714490
  9. Give Veryan some credit. They went on hell of an unbeaten run which I doubt will be done again. And i would say they are at least a definite for a runners up spot. They will end up in the Premier where they should be. St Dennis will probably take the title. Only problem is you'll never hear the end of it from Grosey if they do win it! ?
  10. Division 4 Rame Peninsula 2-2 AFC Par We (AFC Par) made the trip to Torpoint with a thread bare side having seen a total of 10 players unavailable through injury or work. But with the benefit of a large squad we mustered a decent 11 who battled back from 2-0 down to grab a deserved point. Nice bit of grub back the pub too!
  11. Can someone from St Teath please confirm the fixture for tomorrow. My brother has heard nothing from you this week. Thanks Ryan (AFC Par)
  12. Duchy 4 AFC Par 5-3 Lanreath Par started very dominantly and took a 4-0 lead after half an hour. Lanreath rallied and scored two quick fire goals before half time including a long range belter! Par went 5-2 up early in the second half and then made several changes. Lanreath to their credit really played well after that and were much the better side in the second half, even after going down to 10 men! Par were very disjointed and sloppy by comparison and the away side scored a penalty near the end of the game to finish up 5-3. Certainly a game of two halves. Lanreath could easily have let their heads drop at 4-0 but came back fighting. Great attitude! Par scorers:- R. Griffin (2), J. Robinson (2), D. Robinson.
