Dave Deacon
It is with deepest regret and shock to write that I have just learnt of the death of Neil Bartley. Neil and I have built up a tremendous comradeship over the years and I know how much he loved his Torpoint Athletic and his "family" at the club. Everytime I visited the ground he would have something new to show me and be so proud of the progress the club was making. And rightly so. Since taking early retirement I also know that he was working on getting together the history of the club and if I ever needed to know anything about Torpoint Atletic FC, he would be the man with the answer. I will sorely miss him, as will everyone at the club and elsewhere in the town. Condolence to his dad and all those at the club.[attachment=1622:image.jpg]

Guest
Wow. That has come out of left field. Hardly knew him but following on from the death of Glynnis Kitching this is a terrible blow for the club. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. panda
What a shock to read that Neil has passed away.I have known him from when he was a nipper at school and even though he had health problems then he was always bright and cheerful He will be a big loss to Torpoint as his heart and soul were in the club and he stuck by them in the darker days when things were not quite so rosy as they are now.Men like him are at a premium and very hard to come by in this day and age RIP Neil

Yeo's
I no not everyone will no who Neil Bartley was & I would be telling lies if I said I read about all the football people that pass away on this Forum. But this is purely because you may not know or haven't heard of the deceased, but if you have got this far, No this! Binzo was one of those people that was the driving force behind everything the club has achieved & what it's striving to be, the man was an absolute legend & will be sorely missed by everyone that knew him. Won't be the same without him around, & will seem strange not being peppered by Emails in the early hours of the morning, Torpoint have lost another very important person from the club & our thoughts are with his family. Port just won't taste the same without you big man. R.I.P.

Dave Deacon
It was the appropriate good turn out for Neil's funeral yesterday, with the church and clubhouse both packed. The day is well summed up by the attached. Hopefully the writer won't mind me taking it off Facebook [attachment=1627:image.jpg]
