Boxing Day - Newquay vs Godolphin

Recommended Posts

Looking forward to this match so much i have cancelled my hospital apointment .I think it will be a draw 2-2 Newquay got Lewis Hilton back for the christmas period and he is a very good player . Im hoping Newquay have turned the corner after beating IVYBRIDGE in there last match but it will be a hard game because the G are such a good side and the new players Cameron Bidgood and Danny Carne are both good players . Right roll on Boxing Day

You're a tough chap, I'm sure your strength will see you through. I've my last 3 monthly appointment in January, then every 6 months for 2 years, then all being well I'm cleared.

Just back from wet and cold mt wise what a game had everything 2 sending offs fo both Newquay missed pen from the G and a real good game , Well the G tottaly domainated this game and weht behind to Newquays only attack it the 1st half Luke Whelden scoring when the G failed to cut out a cross , The 2nd half was all 1 way wave after G attacks and the finally got there reward when the Newquay goalie and defender collided with the goalie flat out the G player had a empty net to deservedly get the equaliser they deserved after dominating the 2nd half . This was a much better Newquay side and i thought the defence was outstanding and Lewis Hilton at no8 covered every blade of grass i liked Danny Carne for the G his wing play was outstanding and Jamie Lowry was his usual commanding self . The ref certainly had his work cut out and both sending off where right but there could of been more but he did well in awful conditions .Im glad to be back home to dry out after standing there dripping wet and freezing cold but it was better than a hospital bed .Final score 1-1 the G threw away 2 points due to 1 lapse of concentration but should of 1 when i think it was Ross Fallens pen hit the Newquay crossbar but they still played really well but you got to give Newquay credit for the battling dispay as well looks like Newquay have finally turned the corner and a lot of that has to go to Sam Cooper who was outstanding in defence today . Thanks to both sides for playing such a entertaining match in those awful conditions think the attendance must of been about 200

Official Att 322, looked 400+ but there will have been many put off by the cold, wet and windy weather.

Can't agree with 100%, Newquay bossed the first half and deserved to be ahead. G were always going to come at Newquay second half and were helped by Ref Ben Judd with two Red Cards. The first must have been for dissent from Carhart after the softest Penalty ever seen was given, justice was seen to be done as the ball ballooned off the frame of the goal.

The goal was coming and as described by 100%, Newquay had the keeper and defender out of action after a collision but also a third who was fouled, not that the Ref saw anything out of order. Second yellow for McOnie, although he didn't make contact with the Tom Daley impersonator, cue much pushing and shoving, the G #6 should have also seen Red but was fortunate to see just a yellow.

The 9 men held on for the 1-1 draw, the right result on the balance of play, great entertainment for the crowd and another good performance from the Newquay lads, who are now showing that they have the fight and ability to climb the table. Parkway away next week might prove to be very difficult but Bovey Tracey away the week after is the real 6 pointer and will be a battle royale, no love lost between the sides.

What game did you watch 100% ,Jamie Lowry should have a straight red in the first 10 minutes and Newquay competed with the G very well before the 1st sending off,

the referee was very very poor and was not right for a local derby ,thought the sendings off were very harsh considering what had gone on before.

If Newquay continue to play with the spirit shown today they will climb away from the bottom of the table.

Well done to both teams for putting on a good game in terrible conditions

i was right in front of the 1st sending off Carhart shouldnt of put his hands on the ref thats why he had to go but Luke Whelden should of after what he called the ref in the same incident i thought the pen was very harsh i thought the G player just slipped but it made up for the clear handball by cooper in the box even i heard him say to a team mate he was lucky I think you must of been at a different match Bazzer because The G dominated the whole match how many saves did Sean Semmens have to make i cant remember any but this was a lot better Newquay team than the one that played Parkway but that lad Hilton made a difference hes a real good player pity he goes back to the States soon

I agree with 100% regarding both sending offs, however the first sending off wouldn't of happened if the ref didn't award a penalty when the ball was clearly won, and the player was right to go after. Also if he gets sent of for push off the ref surely the godolphin player had to also go for pushing a newquay player right infront on the linesman after the 2nd half bust up? But was just shown a yellow. All in all thought fairly even 1st half and g controlled the second expected with the two sending offs and the style of football they play. Great game for the spectators...

You forgot to mention the incident when Jamie Lowry should have had a straight red and Luke Wheldens disallowed goal when he was clearly

on side, perhaps you did not see all the game after all 100%.

Some of Newquays substitutions were strange to say the least and disrupted the side , Newquay were working hard at this time and lost their way a little.

The referee was crap,no other word for it and the same for both sides.

I watched this match as a complete neutral spectator. Looked forward to it especially as Godolphin are a decent side and Newquay are confident after their recent win but ground conditions being very wet made for a difficult game & It wasn't a great advert for Senior football. Fairly even first half but Newquay took their chance and went ahead which made for a interesting second half as Godolphin had to attack.

The penalty was the turning point as Carhart got himself sent off but Godolphin missed. It may have been a soft penalty but the ref was 5 yards from the incident and had a clear view but Carhart's moment of madness cost his team the possibility of all three points. You can't manhandle the ref!!!!!! Madness. You can push a player below shoulder height and receive a yellow, in the face and it's a red but push a ref will only end up with a red. The second red was straight forward as the player received two obvious yellows, simple. You can't blame the ref. balance of play a draw a fair result.

Hi Bazzer i think if the ref had sent Jamie LOWRY off early in the game the players would not of done some of the stupid things that went on in the game . The Gs pen was harsh but fallens hit the bar with his kick so justice was done but they should of had a earlier pen because Cooper handled in the area he even said to a team mate he was lucky to get away with it as for the dissalowed goal i never saw that because i was at the mayfield end getting soaking wet talking to a g supporter who said to me why did i clap both teams well they are both teams from my town i do favour the G because i like the football they play . I think N ewquay can get a result at Parkway because they hav lost a lot of players lately and there prolific scorer Levi Landricombe is away so i think the Peppermints will be a good team again

Good to see you yesterday 100% Cornish think that on the day the draw was a fair result think the ref had an off day for both teams but it's a hard job one that I wouldn't want to take on so hats off to refs just to let you know it was dilley who took the penalty here's looking forward to the re match on Good Friday
