Not having much luck with the Chacewater pitch this season Nigel, seems to always piss down on a friday!
Be alot easier if we all had a pitch like the old Halsetown one!!!!

That would be nice Phil, not many called off down there for "waterlogging".Still prefer our pitch though!

A dry Friday night and today and the game would have been on but that's life i suppose.

Gwinear Churchtown 1 St Ives Mariners 1

A Jason Fenton header got things underway for Gwinear midway through the first half. We knew it wasn't going to be easy, Mariners beat us when we visited them early on in the season. They're a good side and one that we know we'd have to play well to get all three points.

The weather got worse throughout the game and never let up, the pitch was pretty much destroyed by the final whistle. It was extremely difficult to get the ball to feet and play the football that we know we can play. Evidently that was the case when a shot at Peter Willis in goal was fumbled for the incoming striker to put in the net for the draw... He then went on to make some fantastic saves to keep us in the game.

All in all, a fair result considering the conditions and one that I think both teams would agree was the correct outcome.

Mabe res 4-3 probus res

Mabe scores: Kyle delancy, Andy Julian, Steve Annear and josh Byrd

Well played game with 2 teams who tried playing football on a soft, cut up pitch. End to end game, a penalty for each side, mistakes and slips all over the shop. Mabe going 1 up, then 1-1, then mabe went 2-1 just before the break. Probus equalised and then took a deserved 3-2 lead. But mabe showed the fighting spirit we have done all season and found an equaliser. Then we pushed hard to the end and got the winner with only a couple left on the clock.

In fairness, a draw would of been the fairest result. Both teams played well and could of won the game

PREMIER

Holmans 5-0 Mawnan

A match between 2 of the top teams in the league that didnt turn out as close a contest as it should have done.

Holmans started strongly and dominated the game, but couldnt break down a resolute Mawnan side.  However, after 20 minutes Holmans broke the deadlock with a close range finish, and were soon 2-0 up.

After this Mawnan were on the ropes and could have collapsed but for the last 10 half got themselves going, hitting the bar from a freekick and going just wide with a header.

Mawnan came out strongly in the second half and pressed to get back in the game but after 15 minutes a 3rd for Holmans sealed the points.   The rest of the second half was end to end with both teams having chances, but Holmans took 2 more whilst Mawnan couldnt get on the scoresheet.

Definitely a deserved 3 points for Holmans, though 5-0 was a bit harsh.

Tough, competitive league on the Premier this year, and shows if youre not on your game what can happen.

Madron 2nds 0-2 Wendron 4ths
A good game played in ever worsening conditions.
With both sides looking to play passing football Wendron grasped the conditions a little better and playing the first half against the wind and rain kept their shape and with better use of the ball and good movement caused madron problems from the off. With Madrons keeper making several good saves and Wendron hitting the crossbar from a free kick.Madron had a few chances themselves but couldn't get through an ever improving Wendron defensive line. The deadlock was finally broken when Luke Rawley drilled a free kick into the bottom corner. Halftime 0-1. Second half playing with the elements behind them Wendron pushed on to try and increase their lead .Wendron hitting the crossbar again. Madron determined to get into the game counter attacked when possible but struggled to grasp the conditions. Wendron finally claimed their 2nd goal from a corner Scott Laity heading the bal into the net.A good game very well reffed by Jamie Marles.credit to both teams for making the most of the conditions and all the best to Madron for the rest of the season.

Constantine 2, Threemilestone 5.
great result for the stones in what was a must win game.
James Bright opened the scoring after 3 minutes, Constantine then scored two with good strikes that gave our keeper no chance. Mike Lloyd levelled the score 5 mins before half time with a strike that would of not looked out of place in a match of the day goal of the month competition.
2nd half Matt Mcillroy put us in front before Bright increased our lead with a shot from 25yards that dipped into the net after looping over the keeper.
Mike Lloyd finished off a good afternoon for the stones with the 5th after the home defender and keeper got in a bit of a muddle and lloydy poked it home from 3 ysrds.

Div 3
Newquay 3rds 1 v Helston 3rds 2

Important 3 points in what was a tough game due to the conditions. Newquay took the lead mid way through first half only for Helston to equalise shortly after with a Darren Robertson penalty. It was not long before Helston edged ahead with a great finish from Jack Noy. The conditions worsened during the second half and was close to being abandoned...but was pleased to come away with the 3 points to keep in touch at the top of the table

First awseome credit to alan smith and lots of others to get game on and the pitch was in ok condition as game started!!!

We was again without important players anthony nicholls, kieren rowe, matt osborn and marcus grasso and carl hubbard couple injuries, a holiday and work commitments meant these 5 missed a fixture which we knew we had to win against a lanner team who gave us couple tough tests already this season.

We went with 12 and after changing few positions two wingers playing in centre midfield a central midfielder playing in central defence with our manager we thought if could keep tight we still had enough going forward to cause them problems defensively. But they are not where they are in league for nothing....

Luckily for us lanner kicked off and within the first minute a misplaced pass from their defender straight to one of our midfielders who played in andrew osborn and he cooly finished to put us 1-0 up this woke lanner up and started moving ball quicker but every attack was cut out by a team working hard and very good defensive shape make-shift centre back stuart richardson making loads of important interceptions as lanner kept looking for dangerman stu lugg up top, we kept creating bits and pieces and a brilliant save from home keeper denied pete norfolk from making it 2-0, then mike catterall went for an attemped lob which went inches over the top but it was mainly being played in front both defences, couple minutes before break lanners full back hit a shot from around 30 yard skidded off surface and park keeper jason brooker got down well and turned it away to safety, resulting corner was headed away and half-time 1-0

Second half we seemed to go to a different level and early in second half captain reece prout linked up with pete norfolk norfolk had shot well blocked by home keeper but top scorer mike catterall as many times this season was quickest to react to fire home 2-0 park, within few minutes it was 3-0 when reece prout beat two defenders before firing a shot in that wasn't held andrew osborn reacted first and slotted ball home, then on hour mark best goal we have scored all season started with a short goal kick 4 or 5 passes down left before being moved into middle then over to the right when young winger robbie price who gave lanner left back a torrid afternoon he skipped past him before cutting ball back to mike catterall who lashed ball past lanner's keeper for 4-0! And then 5 minutes later Pete norfolk broke free from midfield played a nice interchange of passes with price before rounding lanner keeper and slotting into empty net 5-0..... Lanner with 15 minutes left got on scoresheet which their hard work deserved a corner was headed clear only to edge box lanner player hit back in to dangerous area and player 6 yards out diverted it past park keeper, 5-1 and lanner kept coming and with 5 minutes a real soft penalty was given when stu lugg appeared to slip in box not suprising with terrential rain coming down and referee said he was clipped lugg got on his feet and sent keeper wrong way 5-2 final score.

Great win for us, especially as other sides around us got good wins too, lanner top bunch cracking spread after best luck rest of season

Trelawney 5
Mabe Reserves 4 - Probus Reserves 3

Disappointing result for Probus, but fal lads report was a fair one. Mabe started strongly, with the wind and rain in their favour and got an early lead. Probus then came back in to game with a deserved equaliser, having missed a couple of one on ones but switched off with a defensive error allowing Mabe to score bang on half time to go in 2-1 up. Second half saw Probus start well and get two goals to be in control of the game at 3-2 with 15 to go, just couldn't get the 4th to be comfortable. Mabe wouldn't give up though and in the conditions pushed on scoring a good equaliser. It then came down to who would take a chance or make a mistake and Mabe got the rub with a 90th minute goal.

In the conditions both teams played some great football, in between the falling over and sliding 5 yards after tackles, and on performance Mabe are certainly one of the best teams we have played this season.

Mabe played well and whilst Probus may feel hard done by to come away with nothing it was an excellent game (in conditions) and we wish Mabe all the best for rest of season. Good bunch of lads and enjoyed the food and drinks after game. Game was played in good spirit and we hope their groundsman will be able to fix the pitch - looking at it after the game I'd be surprised if it playable for several weeks!!

Probus scores Tyler Cheshire 2 Keegan Lloyd 1

Camborne Athletic 1-7 Newbridge Athletic

Scorers: Nick Addey 4, Joe Ashton 2, Elliot Baker.

A great result for Newbridge this week on another boggy pitch that looked more like a mud field by the time the game had finished. Newbridge won the toss an opted to go down hill and with the wind in the first half and this appeared to be in the right decision as Newbridge took an early lead within five minutes. Joe Ashton put the visitors in front from Craig Banner long through ball and Joe put it in pass the keeper who stayed on his line. Newbridge then made it 2-0 just minutes later Joe with another good shot but the keeper dropped the ball and Nick Addey put in the rebound doubling Newbridge's lead with his first league goal of the season and first of the game. Camborne then had their best opportunity of the game as their striker run though, goalkeeper Aaron Jones came out to meet the striker, spread himself well and made an excellent double save to prevent Camborne from getting back into the game. The Camborne Athletic keeper had been struggling with his kicks most of the half and one proved costly as it went straight to Joe and he put the ball in the back of the net to increase the lead. Newbridge continued to press Camborne and were having some good opportunities to make the lead bigger but again is was Camborne who came close, the striker went though, out came Aaron and the player went down with no contact instead of going round the keeper and was after a penalty. The ref waived away his protest and i think the Camborne players were a bit embarrassed that he attempted to claim a penalty. Then came the rain to make the conditions worse but Newbridge made it 4-0 when centre back Kyle Jones's cross was perfect for Nick to score his second. Nick then scored his hat-trick jigging in and out inside the box taking it round three players and finish neatly into the bottom corner. Half-time 5-0.

Newbridge were expecting Camborne to then get a bit more of the game now going down hill and with the wind but Newbridge continued the way they started and ended the first half by making the score 6-0, some neat passing by Newbridge and Elliot Baker put it into the net. The game was getting very difficult after that and the middle of the pitch was getting worse. Newbridge made it 7-0 from a corner Elliot put in another perfect cross to the head of Nick to get his 4th of the game. Camborne did get a consolation goal from a corner of their own. Their player got away from his marker who got stuck in the slop that was the penalty spot to header the ball in to the net. Camborne almost got another goal from their late substitute with an excellent strike going into the top corner only for keeper Aaron to make an equally good save to turn it out for a corner. Shortly after the whistle went to end the game 7-1 to Newbridge.

A great sporting bunch Camborne despite being on the end of a 7-1 result and were very welcoming back at the pub. Look forward to meeting you again at Malpas. Another well reffed game by Nick O'Dwyer, wouldn't mind having him as our ref every week.

Trelawny Premier:

St Keverne 3 Carharrack 5

Carharrack travelled to St Keverne this weekend in what is always a difficult fixture for visiting sides.

Carharrack opened the scoring after only 2 mins when Ryan Stephens played the ball though on goal to youngster Jack Rapsey who smoothly placed the ball into the bottom right hand corner.  St Keverne pulled on back on the 25 minute when a cross fell to the home attack leaving the defence failing to pick the ball up from the box and sending the keeper wide.

Not to be out done Carharrack pushed forward and Ryan Stephens controlled the ball well to slot the ball into the middle of the goal taking the lead once more. The visitor started to take control of the game and Jack Rapsey add his name to the score sheet once more by hitting the ball on the volley inside the area send the keeper the wrong way. This lead would be short lived and just before half time match official Trev Lawrence gave a penalty when a home attack was deemed pushed in the box.

Going into the interval conditions started to deteriorate as heavy rain caused problems on the pitch.

Starting the second half both sides had their fair share of play but it was Carharrack who would extend their lead when midfielder Billy Williams took on the defence before getting inside the box to score into the left hand corner. Not to be out done St Keverne played the ball out to the wingers and finally a ball got inside the box leading to confusion before the ball went past the line giving the home supporters hope of a comeback.

But that hope was soon faded when Carharrack winger James Davies took home maximum points by cutting up the last defender send the goalkeeper to scramble the ball from the back of the net. Carharrack dominated the rest of the match and as the rain continued to fall the match official signalled for full time.

Div 2

Marazion 4-2 Sennen

The wind and rain made this a very difficult fixture although the pitch held up well considering. We dropped two points away to Sennen a few weeks ago and were determined to make amends. We were helped out by the Sennen centre back whose under hit back past was seized on by Liam Mooney who tapped the ball past the on rushing Scott May in goal. We doubled our lead when Matty Thomas broke his goal drought, blasting in from the edge of the box which somehow squirmed under May's body. 2-0 at half time and we were quite comfortable with Sennen not really giving Kevin in goal anything to do

Second half captain Stevie Hunt made it three with a right foot lob from outside the box leaving May stranded. Sennen pulled a goal back firing in from close range after a scramble in the box. We restored our three goal cushion when Craig Rennard's near post corner was slotted home by myself having just come on as a sub. There was time for Sennen to get another when the ref said he saw James Burlingham kick out at a Sennen player when waiting for a free kick to be taken although both James and the Sennen lad said nothing had happened.

Good three points in harsh conditions and nice to get back to winning ways after the last last few games. Sennen battled well but we were always in control. Game was well reffed although not sure what he saw to give the penalty

Not The best of Games played by our Self Dc , Not Allways a easy place to go and get a Win down at Clijah But glad to come away with the 3 points . Weather conditions didn't help very wet and windy for most of the game with non stop rain . Very surprised to hear the game was going ahead!
