Percy Stephens Cup

Probus Reserves 3 - Rosudgeon 5

Great game of football and Probus made to feel really welcome as we agreed to reverse fixture to get game played. Probus started well and went into an early lead through an unfortunate defensive error. Rosudgeon game back and went in at half time 2-1 up. Second half saw more excellent football and Probus made the mistake of going into a 3-2 lead with still just over 10 to go. Rosudgeon came to life and scored three quality goals to deservedly win game.

Even though we lost, the better team won, and our young lads had a great game - couldn't fault any of them, just a bit outclassed in certain areas at important times. Rosudgeons No10 was a quality player and at times too much for us to handle. Good luck to them for season and cups - nice football playing team.

Probus scorer Keegan Lloyd 3.

Congratulations to Threemilestone & Gulval for getting this match on despite no referee being in attendance. I thought the club official who took charge did an excellent job and the players responded by adopting a sporting attitude to the situation. Definitely made my trip from Dawlish well worth while. Thanks to all concerned!

No excuses was outplayed completely. Shocking game for CAFC with 1 players contribution leading to giving the saints 4 goals from his poor performance. But like I sd out played out matched n out classed. Beaten by a far better side on the day well done st erme. Played good football through out.

Mullion v Penryn - abandoned

Hand bags and the ref shit his pants! game over.

Also the ref should of given a red card for penryns second penalty because the player was the last man, no card! I had a perfect view because I was stood by the clubhouse. I dont even think mullion expected him to get away with it!

Dont even start me on the handball for the 3rd goal. So id say penryn were up against a good mullion team plus the referee! I guess as we are title favourites people are out to see us fall.

Best part was the old guy threatening penryn players with his crutches!

Gwinear 4 Mousehole 1

Very important win for us, we've made a couple of signings within the last few weeks. Two of the, played a huge part in today's victory.

We knew we had a game on our hands just by looking at Mousehole's recent record but that didn't phase us, we knew what we had to do.

We scored within 10 minutes, with Mouseholes young keeper (who I think could be a player to watch in the future) making a good save but parrying straight to Carl Stretch Stretton who scored from a few yards out.

Dave Bartlam scored a bicycle kick about ten minutes later to take the score to 2-0.

Our keeper was quite busy in the first, saving brilliantly to his left twice to deny the Mousehole attack, only to be beaten on the third attempt, the Mousehole midfielder hitting a clearance first time from 18 yards, ball curling away from the keeper and nestling nicely into the bottom right. A good goal and worthy of a shout.

Half time 2-1

Two goals in the second half from Kris Uren and Reave killed the game off and guaranteed the victory for Gwinear, an important one on their quest to climb back up towards the top of the table.

Gwin had three goals ruled out for offside, which were two from myself which I will say we're questionable, both headers from crosses where I was looking across the line the whole time... But then the linesman made an honest decision for our fourth which was a goalmouth scramble and one of those that only him and the players around the ball could tell if it went in, he put the flag up straight away and the goal was awarded.

A note on the referee, overall a good performance. Got the majority of the decisions right but often seemed to give decisions based on the loudest shout. There were times for both sides that free kicks were given perhaps for the wrong side.. But that's football. At a time when we need more refs and need to encourage them and get off their backs, I think he handled the game well and both teams, despite the occasional profanity and little tantrum, paid him respect which is what you need.

All the best to Mousehole for the rest of the season, a good bunch of lads and a pleasure to play against

Threemilestone 1-2 guval

Poor poor game down at malpas today, rubbish pitch. Thanks to Rhonnda for reffing it. Did well under the circumstances and was fair in every decision, also a massive thanks to the guval boys for coming back to our club, paid for a few scratch card games aswell to help our club, great shame that one of us may go down, always a good game played in good spirits.

Div 4

Penwith Exiles 6 - 3 Ludgvan Reserves

Good Start from exiles today getting straight into the game, scored an early goal and they kept coming, halftime we found ourselves 6-0 up great first half nice and strong performance, came out second half and dropped off the pace conceding a slack goal, ludgvans second goal came from a penalty that should of never been as was a strong fair tackle with our defender winning the ball, their last goal was a freak cross that just managed to find the net, we picked up our pace and missed out on a few more chances but couldn't quite extend our lead. Still got the 3 points to see us top of the league.

Full time 6-3

Good luck to ludgvan for season ahead good bunch of guys.

West Cornwall 2-4 Holmans

Poor game in fairness, Holmans wanted it more on the day and that was the difference between the sides. We battled but they battled harder, lot of long ball football which was unattractive to watch, but the pitch wasn't ideal for passing football. Holmans played the conditions better, and overall I think both sides got what they deserved. Onto next week!

Another moron running his mouth on the forums complaining about the refs. People like you are the reason there is a ref shortage. If u r so good and know so much about the rules of the game take up the whistle and earn yourself some cash. If not shut up and keep your opinions to yourself. If both teams played football the right way the game would not have been postponed and penryn lads would not have wasted petrol driving down to u. Disgraceful.

Well i have to say I've stayed off the forum for quite a while but Blue Bridge has once again come out with utter crap. Im unsure of your so called Old Guy but that would probably be Dave a stalwart of Mullion Fc , if it was 1, good on him 2, shame he never hit you 3, He's the ultimate as far as gentlemen go & 4, blue bridge you are a total numpty, id love to meet you. As for ref & his pants thats a bit like you on here hiding behind a daft crap name. As for Penryn being title favourites to which if they do win where there concerned good luck to them lads, however i remember your crap from a couple of years ago they were title favourites in your opinion then & finished mmmmm nowhere. PS get a life you big baby

Illogan 3's 4 Storm 1

Illogan were again slow out the blocks possibly due to jonno's warm up which had everyone but Ryan and I blowing out their arse lol. With Seymour away watching his beloved chelski Richie ward went up top on his own but didn't see much of the ball early doors as storm had a succession of corners resulting in a penalty from a push in the box. My old training partner Adam Lockwood couldn't claim bragging rights as I managed to keep his spot kick out. To rub salt in the wound against the run of play we took the lead from a long throw and a turn and shot from wardy.Storm continued to find a few gaps in a defence that recently have looked much tighter, from one of these I managed to get a toe on a 1 on 1 to send it wide and yet again we went up the other end and scored, stipes claiming to head in from a wicked Tarik Kalkan corner tho looked like an og to me! Ht 2-0, could easily have been 2-2. Second half and we wanted to keep it tight but a poor clearance from Ryan Treloar was pounced upon to make it 2-1, this caused us to panic for 15 minutes or so and Storm put us under pressure without adding to their goal. Gaps appeared as Storm pushed on and from an Illogan counter we wrapped the game up Richie Ward cutting and blasting it inside the keepers near post and late late on Ryan Treloar hit a peachy free kick to make the score slightly harsh on Storm. Nice to see some old mates today, ft 4-1

Well Fudge, I'm not sure I would wholly agree with your game synopsis, but I think you can claim a good win. Newlyn had little luck on our side today, and a couple of your goals were well taken. I must say that I was most impressed by the lack of howling "our ball" every time the ball went out of play. I get so fed up with players knocking the ball over the line and then shouting "corner"! Well done for fair play, good luck for the season, apart from the day we play you in the reverse fixture!

PREMIER

St Buryan 1-3 Mawnan

Mawnan made the long trip to St Buryan in the second of a double header having beaten them narrowly last Saturday.

Despite arriving in plenty of time and a good warmup, Mawnan were caught cold by a great strike from 30 yards out on the right wing to go an early goal down. However, Mawnan didn't panic and worked there way back into the game. The equaliser came after 20 minutes and following this Mawnan continued to create chances and took the lead after half an hour.

Just before half time St Buryan nearly equalised but the shot hit the bar, and bounced down and out.

In the second half it was fairly level until Mawnan increased the lead to 3-1. Following this St Buryan pushed men forwards and created chances. Mawnan had to defend well, though continued to look dangerous on the break.

Two very tough games against a side im surprised to see low down in the division but I doubt for long.

Also many thanks for the hospitality shown by St Buryan in providing extra food for us as we stayed on to watch the evening match on TV.

Camborne Ath - 1 St Erme - 6 (HT 0-2)

A great team performance yesterday by the St Erne lads.

Playing some great stuff on a difficult and heavy pitch, could've scored a few more but got to give credit to Athletics keeper who made some fantastic saves and he was the one that tucked away the consolation goal for camborne from the spot after tucking away the rebound after his penalty was saved.

But as I've said the St Erme lads played some great stuff and there were solid performances throughout with Paul Hopkinson excelling at CB with a man of the match performance.

The goals for St Erme were scored by Adam Coveney x 2, Terry Campbell x 2, Mark Mitchell x1 and myself who ended my 2 game goal drought at last!!!! ?

Well played to camborne, a great bunch of lads and thanks for the grub at the pub after although there was more of us than there was of them!

Stithians Reserves 0-5 Newbridge Athletic

The scoreline from this game shows exactly how this game went from start to finish and should have been a lot more than 5. Stithians never had a shot on target so I had very little to do all game. However it was a very slow start from Newbridge and it took a good 20 minutes to score the first goal. Stithians keeper made some excellent saves early on to keep the score level. James Tregay then finally put Newbridge in front, Elliot Baker chipped the ball over the top of the Stithians defence and James tucked the ball in under the keeper. Stithians gave us a lot of space on the ball but from a lack of movement from the team chances were few and far between despite having most of the possession. Most attempts that we did have were over the bar or wide of the mark. Newbridge getting very frustrated not scoring started to bicker between each other and half-time was probably welcomed.

After the team talk to figure out what was going wrong and what we needed to improve Newbridge then turned it up and scored 3 goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half. Joe Ashton made it 2-0 just two minutes into the second half he skipped over a couple challenges, took it round the keeper and ran it into the net. Just another two minutes later and it was 3-0. Joe this time with the assist to set up Gareth Charles to smash it into the bottom corner. 5 minutes later and it was 4-0. This time Gareth turning provider, his darting run down the left hand side beating three players. He put the ball across the box evading everyone for Ben Montgomery to tap in his first goal of the season. Newbridge now looking comfortable turned it down a gear and made some changes. Joe had some more chances but failed to hit the target. Stithians had a few corners after this but nothing come close to getting a goal or even hitting the target. It wasn't till the final ten minutes that Newbridge finished the game off and James Tregay got his second and Newbridge's 5th. His curled shot from the left side of the box went past the keeper to round off the scoring. Final score Stithians 0-5 Newbridge.

M.O.M Gareth Charles, excellent second half performance from Gareth and got himself a goal and assist.

On a less relevant note Stithians told us that food would be served on back at the pub. However when we got there we were told that they only did food for the rugby team as many teams don't come back and then served it infront of us to them without offering us anything, Rather poor hospitality from what was a good bunch of lads.

Just like to say that I played for Stithians 1sts last year and we always had food but saturday was a joke, and the women who was serving the food does not work in the pub she is to do with the rugby lot, as you can tell with the things she was saying. Anyways good luck to both Stithians teams and look forwards to welcoming you to Malpas

Dobbie, A game consists of two equal halves if that does not happen through an abandonment then the game has not been completed so no result It will be up to the league to decide whether a replay is needed.

Which is why Mr manning I said so I was told...

If a game is abandoned because of no fault of the teams then the result will stand if at least 70 mins has been played.

Division 5

Mabe reserves 5-3 camborne town

Mabe scores

James Taylor 2, Ben Kellow 2 and Niall Morgan

we went 2 up inside 10 minutes, camborne got 1 back but we scored again shortly after, 3-1 half time

We scored about 10 into the 2nd half, camborne came back at us again and had us pinned back for the rest of the half, we scored again on the break against the run of play. Camborne kept coming and got another but we held on for the 3 points.

Not at our best at all but that was down to Camborne hurrying us on the ball and pressing well

We (Redruth UTD) completely failed to deal with Trispen's pace out wide as well as the 2 lads up top, a real handful!! Having played all of the top sides except Mullion now I would say Trispen and Pendeen are the 2 sides to watch our for. I don't want to discount Illogan as when they beat us in the cup were also a very good side but my personal opinion is from what I've seen is these boys will be right up there.

Thanks for the hospitality after and see you for the return in the new year.
