FA Cup results - Saturday Sept 13th 2014

After a great first half performance, Bodmin now have to travel to Somerset on Tuesday probably without their two strikers, Adam Carter and Mark Gusterson, both injured in today's match.

Leading 3-0 at the half-time break through a Sam Matthews hat-trick, the next round was calling, so no wonder the Bridgwater manager gave his side a roasting which every supporter queuing for a cup of tea heard!

The second half started and whether Bodmin were sitting deeper or being forced back by an opposition stirred on by their half-time instructions, the pressure eventually paid off and from the moment Bridgewater got their first, you just had a feeling this game was there for them to still have a say.

The first half saw three cracking goals for the home side in which although Matthews will get the credit for scoring, they were all three well-created goals in which the front two played their piece.

Even though Kevin Miller saved a penalty which would have pulled the game back level, it wasn't too much of a surprise when they did make it 3-3, but even then the Bridgwater keeper made a great double save touching a Bobby Hopkinson 30 yard free kick onto the woodwork and then recovering to save the follow-up effort.

In summary, probably a fair result and Bodmin should hold their heads high against a side from the Southern league. There was never a suggestion that they were two steps higher in the non league pyramid.

Good luck for the replay due on Tuesday.

Indeed.... good luck to Bodmin in tonights replay, should be a cracker if everyone is fit. Does anyone have any update on the fitness of the two Bodmin front men, Carter and Guterson
