Torpoint v Ivybridge

Recommended Posts

Calm down Keith, whilst I agree it has been a very impressive start for the Bridgers, lets not get carried away just yet. Looking at their fixtures they would had certainly expected to win those games. After seeing them at Pennygillam it will be interesting to see how they fare against the likes of Bodmin etc.

Still 100% start, cant complain.

I know no one is getting carried away at Ivybridge. Take one game at a time. Expected to win those games before they are played and actually winning them, the statements are miles apart. Can't win games on paper!

After seeing them at Pennygillam, what's your take on them?

There are 7 teams there that are in the top half of the league, more than a couple of problems I would think, however, none of them will be taken lightly!

After watching the match last night, I thought Ivybridge were very lucky to take the three points last night. 2nd half the Torpoint right winger caused a lot of problems for Ivybridge and delivered 6/7 fantastic crosses into the box & if the front lads were on the ball, well a point or 3 would of been Torpoint's. But fair play Ivybridge clean sheet & 3points.

Just read the match report in the herald: either the reporter or you were at different matches? Strange how peoples view and opinions can differ so much, when watching the same match!

I thought they looked a well organised side and certainly looked worthy of the two goal lead they achieved. However, then throwing that lead away showed their defensive frailties. The young lad Sutton that came on at half time was a sensation scoring four goals and giving Ivybridge the three points. But playing the long ball down the middle time after time gets a bit predictable and Im sure that any decent defenders will deal with that threat easily. That said and if plan B works, use it !

If the tall Ivybridge forward had been in the Torpoint's forwards boots he would probably have gone away with at least 2 goals! 2nd half. As a neutral at the game that was my view, and some Ivybridge supporters too had the same opinion.
