Yes, even-stevens at half time after Port took the lead with their 1st meaningful attack against the run of play, then Illogan scrambled an equaliser. Looked to me more likely that Port would win in the 2nd half until Tom Smith rose unchallenged to head Illogan into the lead. Well taken goal by the No 17 sub for 3 - 1 and then the goal of the game by Port's No.12 on 90+1 to make the closing minutes interesting. Not a bad game for the neutral but too many whingers on the pitch.

Nice to see Vidal James again, one of the game's true characters and dedicated with it.

As for the football, Blazey 2 up,and then hit the self destruct button. Gifted Camelford two goals. Looked like 2 points dropped but with a minute to go, a ball in the box chested on by Coombes and absolutely smashed in by Spear. Cracking strike. Gave their keeper no chance. 3 points in the bag before two big matches against Bodmin.

What a surprise, no credit for Camelford then! St. Blazey best team first half and Camels best team second half and deserved at least a point. All the Camels lads supported the club well after the match and stayed in the clubhouse for a lengthy time. Where were all the home team? Soon gone!

Anyway, a good afternoons entertainment and well worth the entry fee! Good Luck to St. Blazey for the rest of the season.

Blimey Camels getting the blame for a gift of a goal now, to be honest St Blazey's defence looked shaky all game especially the goalie, will cost them in the long run. Oaten said in the post match interview all Camels had was along ball and spirit, what a load of rubbish, all the long balls were played by St Blazey to the gangly bloke up front who lacks pace, If there was a difference between the teams it was St Blazey's number 11 who was class. Disappointed that St Blazey players came in the clubhouse, ate the grub picked up their packet and left all within a half hour, mind you somebody said they train at Ivybridge so maybe they live a long way away, don't suppose many were going home to Tywardreath

Crikey, thank goodness SteveM was there to bring the St Blazey fans back down to ground level. I'm not sure what Paul and Bobby were watching. You expect it from Bobby but I thought Pauls write ups are usually a little more of a fair reflection on the game. Camelford missed 4/5 good chances and Blazey pretty much just took the chances that came their way, that was the difference!

As for Bobby saying that Camelford only played the long ball, did he see Camelfords 2nd goal? Which basically completely disected St Blazeys centre midfield, left midfield and defence? It seemed to me that if anything, St Blazey relied on the long ball with endless balls into the feet of Coombes. Having said that who can blame them? Coombes holds the ball up very well and they are only playing to their strengths. I have no doubt though that this is branded as tactical genius by Bobby Oaten whereas when Camelford play the ball into Balsdons feet (who also hold the ball up very well and brings other players into the game), I'm sure that that is simply long hopeful balls without purpose?

If it wasn't for St Blazeys stocky lad at centre half (Dan Evans?) then I would really worry for Blazey as I think they would be conceding several goals a game. He managed to get himself back in around and make last ditch challenges on several occasions yesterday. Also, the number 11 for St Blazey was exceptional first half in particular?

I just wish that sometimes the fans of the winning team would be thankful for the win but accept that they were evenly matched and that it could have been a very different result!

I think you need to read my post again. I've wrote hardly a thing about the game. You lot are a bit touchy for a Sunday. We actually said yesterday, that Camelford are a good side and we wondered how they'd lost so many this season. Their keeper had made some great saves in the 3 games this season against St Blazey. He's got a bloody good kick on him to. As for the goals we conceded, they both came from big mistakes. Sloppy play. Simple as that. Camelford took advantage and to be fair looked like the side who would go on and win it. St Blazey had 15 minutes struggling to get hold of the ball. But some individual skill won the game.

Someone's fallen out with the misses. Jesus. Who are you to tell people how to spend their free time?

Not telling anybody anything , just think it would be nice to put a bit of their hard earned behind the bar and have a yap with the people that do lots of hard work for nothing.

Funny how opposing fans see the game through different eyes (although I suppose it will always be like that) For what my thoughts are worth I felt we (St Blazey) were ahead thru two well taken finishes by Seb Broomfield but have to admit that I was relieved to see the early goal (his second) go in right after half time as Camelford had showed great determination to get a grip on the game. It always begs the question when a manager is not happy with his team are they playing poorly or are the opponents not letting them settle and play well!!

I have no issues with the "camels" as two women close to us kept shouting (but quite high pitched unfortunately!) as they worked hard but do play a very "direct" style and Josh Insley must finish each game with a headache!! Blazey certainly try to keep the ball down and play a passing game but of course will mix it up and play to Coombes if required. My issue was with the ref ( I must add who is normally very good) who seemed to miss some tackles and then seconds later pull the other team up for the same offence and how he didnt givethe penalty when Ray Spear was brought down Iin the second half after cutting Iin from the right I willnever know!!! One of the most obvious penalties I have ever seen!!!!

I think the emotions felt by Blazey fans at the final whistle were relief at a late winner and more relief that theref didnt rob us!!!!

Best of luck to Camelford for the rest of the season

The futures bright the futures green and black!!

Read your post again and no change of opinion. What you might have said yesterday was certainly not put in your first posts here, so how can you blame anyone for thinking you are so biased. Support your own team, yes, but be fair. Having said that, the views highlighted above seem more realistic, just a pity you didn't include them earlier, could have prevented some disgruntled fan's remarks. I say again, great entertainment from the match, just a pity there had to be a loser!

And now for something completely different.....

Was at Godolphin Way yesterday for the game v Callington Town

What a great job the home club have done with the ground, congratulations to everyone involved !!

A well-deserved home win, but a few anxious moments for the home team towards the end when Town pushed forward.

Good entertainment on a cold day.
