Three standout games for me this weekend. Not much to catch my fancy in the Premier this weekend apart from St Blazey v Saltash. Blazey on a good recent run of results against a strong Saltash side, should be interesting!

Couple of big games in the East and West though - Millbrook v Penzance two lowly teams battling away. Surprised to see PZ bottom of the West, such a shame remember them being a real force in the Prem not too long ago.

Tavistock v Teignmouth top of the table clash in the East should be a feisty one too I have been hearing with Teignmouths reputation this season.

I thought this a strange post Henning and quite insulting to most Premier League clubs. No offence meant. I'm not sure why insulting Keith. Henning only expressing his opinion.

Not knowing where he is based, there might be a couple games that are immediately no good because of the travelling. I'm not so sure myself if I would go to any of the devon based games - that's instantly 5 out!

From the remainder :

Callington Town v Falmouth Town - this might be interesting as Wayne Hughes' in charge while Falmouth look for new manager. If he does a good job and a win today would be a great start, could it be his?

Launceston v Bovey Tracey - bottom of the table visitors!

Newquay v Torpoint Ath - could attract a few as an all Cornish fixture, but again home side are labouring near bottom of the table

St Blazey v Saltash : But I have to agree with Henning - this is probably the game with most appeal : another one between two Cornish sides. The green and blacks playing some good football but perhaps lacking it in front of goal will be a test against the Ashes who we know from results this season can compete with the best.

Hi Keith, no offence taken, but I'm not sure how this is an insulting post? simply stating that not much takes my fancy this weekend apart from the mentioned games. Personal opinion and Dave D has come out with his interesting ones too.

ANyway enjoy whatever match you decide on this weekend and post your opinions!

Again - apologies Henning - enjoy whatever game you watch sir. :)

Beauty of the SWPL - a wide range of opinions of passionate supporters. Not sure many leagues outside the counties have the same.

Thanks Keith, still not sure which one to take in but make sure to put a report up on the clarets later on! I will be reading and hopefully its an exciting game!

St Blazey 1-3 Saltash

Cracking volley by Spear after 2 minutes put St Blazey ahead which was the score at the interval. However 3 goals in 15 minutes from the visitors made sure the visitors went away with all three points - Johnny Hoyles 2 and Lewis Russell getting the goals.

Maddison was a menace for the Ashes, who overall proved the better in front of goal.

Just wanted to say a huge thankyou to the players and management of Bude for being so understanding in the postponement of todays game, without going in to too much detail for its not my place, Bude travelled along way but were very honourable when the decision was made to not play on. Also the quick work from Steve green, josh hoon and an off duty paramedic who was watching, thankyou so much, we wish our friend a speedy recovery, thinking of you mate, scoff's

Falmouth lineup

Jason Peters-James Greet-Jamie Webb-Ross Pope(Gary Bell)-Joe Cooper©-Josh Burton-Mike Vanes-Mike Smith(Andy Van Evilengen)-Rob Wearne(Dan Evans)-Harry Evans-Ryan Chinn-Unused sub Kayne Trevaskis-Sam Trudgian

First half Callington had most of the play bu the Falmouth defence stood firm .

Second half Falmouth took the game to Callington and were rewarded with three goals.

Skipper Joe Cooper met a free kick with a looping header and then the lively Harry Evans (MOM) steered a shot inside the post across goal and followed up with a lob over the advancing keeper from the edge of the area.

[...] Saltash winning convincingly at St.Blazey. Any match reports, line ups from any of the games?

I can tell you it wasn't particularly convincing. Blazey defence had an off day, Maddison had Iles in his pocket but by-and-large Saltash didn't look particularly special either.

For me, Blazey lack natural width, which causes them problems as they soon run out of ideas and try to play the ball through the middle too often. Tornado Bello came off at half time so they were down to no natural wide men at all and funnily enough they conceded goals in the second half after giving away possession in the centre, with Saltash targeting Iles on Blazeys left, so much so that Bobby ended up moving Warren Daw to left back and put the defensively minded Iles in front of him after the third goal.

The team lack a wide player who tracks back and provides a shield for Iles and until that is sorted they'll continue to be weaker on their left hand side. Broomfield does his best when on the left but for me he is deceptively slow (he looks like he should be quicker than he is) doesn't track back enough when deployed out wide and does not impose himself enough in challenges. Also, he wants to play centrally.

I think a quick, hard working wide player would ease congestion in the middle and allow Spear (or Swain when he gets back from injury) and Coombes time and space to perform. Coombes is a great physical presence and very good in the air but we simply don't get enough crosses to him and he's often sucked into build-up play. I think a wide outlet would allow him to stay further forward instead of developing play and be the target man he's clearly capable of being.

Saying all of that, recently Blazey have been stronger in defence and I think they were a bit off the pace for whatever reason yesterday. Perhaps too many games in a short space of time?
