Lanreath Football Club new management duo

Recommended Posts

Lanreath FC are delighted to have appointed a new first team management duo of Dave McGhee and Craig Holman.

As most people know Dave is an ex professional who captained Leyton Orient and was involved at Brentford before having to retire at 26 through injury, Dave is hoping to play more matches this season as his son Callum is old enough to play senior football and has signed for Lanreath.

Dave has spent the last few years managing Looe youth teams but they have now reached the age where they need to play adult football, many of his young players are joining his son Callum to experience adult football at Lanreath.

Craig Holman has had a massive influence throughout the 2013/14 season and helped previous managers Mark Facey and Bradley Powell guide the first team to a end of season run that included 10 wins out of the last 11 games. Craig's backround has included assisting St Austell 1st team and managing Minehead Football Club. Craig has a wealth of football knowledge and we feel that with Dave's professional experience the future looks bright.

Pre season friendlies as follows:

Saturday 12th July, Lanreath v St Blazey 1st team

Wednesday 16th July, Lanreath v Liskeard 1st team

Tuesday 22nd July, Lanreath v Dobwalls

Saturday 26th July, Lanreath v Foxhole 1st team

Tuesday 5th August, Lanreath v Looe (Duchy)

We are currently arranging a final 1st team friendly along with our 2nd team friendlies that will be announced shortly, training is currently at Rally Park @ 18.30 every Thursday night which will be continued in autumn/winter at Lux Park astro turf.

We are hoping to spend a large amount of money on pitch improvements which wiill ensure a good playing surface at Rally Park and the whole of the committee are fully behind the progression of our friendly club.

Max Facey (Chair of Lanreath FC)
