Madron 2nds 1-2 Newlyn Lions

Poor game to watch, not much quality on show but we still created a good number of chances to have put the game to bed.

Still 100% record but very lucky to be after todays showing. Almost gifted Madron a point/s but a wins a win.

Best of luck to Madron, we will be back again for our cup game.

Penwith Exiles 12 - 0 Lizard Argyle Res

As score states one sided game could of been more but some chances were missed and their keeper made some decent saves.

Exiles dominated the park for most of the game.

Great play by the exiles holding off any attack by the opposing team, exiles attacked with every chance they had possession and with great play came some great goals,

Danny earl with a superb strike only for the keeper to push it further in the corner of the net, a fine header from from Adam Hopkins from a cross just outside the box by Jordan James, another great header from Jamie Millard from a corner, Nathan Burt and tj price added to the score line with some great play and each scoring some quality goals from runs from the halfway line, also Wayne Thyer and Josh Nichols got their names on the score sheet each with great goals, can't take nothing away from the lizard turned up with 11 players and played to the end was a great game of football, exiles remain unbeaten and top of the league.

All the best to the lizard for their season ahead.

Railway 0-6 storm res

Ive got to say first half storm were awesome and railway were suffering from Xmas festivities but nether the less this is football. Storm were 4-0 at half time gave the young lads a go 2nd half and still came out with a clean sheet. To be honest though storm should of had 13. 3 attempts had gone over the line but clijah have yet to get the goal line tech and thus were not given. Alot of the wood work was struck to. Big up storm for Xmas and thank you railway for not giving up keeping the spirit alive with the hangover

Goal scorers

Tom Taylor 2

David Mitchell 2

Kyle Chilman

Aaron chaston (amazing cross)

Big mention to tom Collins who had the 3 attempts of the ball going over the line and not given haha

Gwinear Reserves 7 Madron 1

For the second time in three weeks, Gwinear were to come up against Madron for yesterday's fixture, after beating them 9-0 away previously.

After. 1-1 draw at home last week to Penqith, Gwinear were keen to continue their run of good form and bring it into this game.

From the off, Gwinear were too relaxed. Madron started off the better team and before long, they produced a couple of chances and put pressure on the Gwinear defence with a combination of shots and a few corners. After ten minutes, a Madron player was pulled back on the edge of the box, about twenty yards out. Free kick awarded. The free kick was a tame one and should have been dealt with easily, two Gwin centre backs had a communication error and the ball bounced through and past the unexpecting keeper. 0-1

20 - ball put through to Reave Kendall who calmly runs on and hits on the half volley under the advancing keeper

30 - A corner leads to a well hit shot by Jason Fenton into the bottom left corner

35 - another corner, Dave Bartlam lobbing the keeper with his head from 5 yards

40 - a brilliantly placed ball from the midfield saw Reave and Shaun Isaacs in a perfect goal scoring position, Reave unselfishly leaves the ball for Shaun to hit past the keeper

Half time

55 - Carl Stretton scoring from another good ball through from the wing

70 - jason Fenton with another goal using his head

80 - Substitute Josh Chandler blasts past the keeper from the left

We had a few disallowed and a few questional offside decisions but 7-1 was a fair result. Apologies for the match report, usually I try and make the, quite detailed but I've got baby brain at the moment after becoming a dad on Thursday, the memory is shot.

Two things to mention really, the Madeon keeper... Absolutely superb keeper and very good sportsman. On countless occasions he made some fine saves and also played very fair. On one occasion to note, referee and linesman award a goal kick.. He then makes the ref aware that the ball came off him last to go out for a corner. Ref didn't change his mind but there was no cheating and he was keen to play fairly. Good on him.

Secondly... I said it two weeks ago and I'll say it again... The first and in my opinion, the most important aspect of any footballing side is the ability to communicate and get along with your teammates. There are a few good lads in that Madron side who are being brought down by certain other players with Egos, I won't mention the guy that I'm on about but it's pretty obvious who that is in their team. You guys were 1-0 up and arguing with each other. You need to enjoy playing with each other in order to get the results you want. Madron skipper is a young lad, it's a lot for him to do trying to calm things down, but his voice and wise words fell on deaf ears. It's a shame because some of you guys seem like good lads! It was also surprising to see the Madron manager who was told to "F-off" last week by some of his players at the game yesterday.. Turned out that he was asked to give the players a lift to Gwin for the game. That's a rare thing; from the two teams ive managed previously, if my whole team told me to do one, I would either get rid of those players if I had a large squad or I'd walk and never look back let alone return.. Maybe something to think about there. Most importantly, you need to get along with each other, do that and I think you've got a good chance of winning a few games and keeping clear of the drop zone before the season ends.

St Erme 5 Newbridge 2

Great result for St Erme in the local derby, the home side were poor 1st half and could've been at least 3 down! However we stuck in there and went in 1-0 up.

2nd half was far more interesting and Newbridge got their goals from a couple of dubious decisions, however St Erme always looked a threat and were the better side with the better finishing and got a further 4 goals in the 2nd half to claim the points.

A great win before Christmas, the goals were scored by Elliott Jolly x 3, Andy Mitchell, and Terry Campbell

Division 5

Newquay 4ths 0 v Probus Reserves 4

All round good game of football. Both young teams were determined to play passing football, which in the conditions was difficult but made for an entertaining game to watch. Probus squandered several chances early on but pressed home advantage to go in at half time 2-0 up. Several missed chances by Probus again in second half kept the game alive, until a quality goal finally put the game to bed at 3-0. Newquay had a player red carded shortly afterwards, for what most spectators would have considered a fifty- fifty challenge, but the player concerned had obviously got on the wrong side of the ref in the first half. To their credit Newquay really pushed with 10 men but the numerical challenge told with Probus finishing stronger and scoring a 4th. Webby has a good young team, who with a bit of luck will score goals and cause other teams a problem. Good luck to them for rest of season.

As an aside we (Probus) have a player who wears glasses, for the second time this season the ref asked him to take them off - even though CCFA said it was fine (glasses are strengthened sports glasses) - makes it very difficult having a nearly blind left back!! Anybody else had same problem?

Division 5

Falmouth dc 1-3 mabe reserves

Mabe scorers: Ross Cashmore 2, ben kellow

A competitive game played between 2 sides that both wanted to win, 1st half a bit scrappy, both teams creating chances but it was mabe who took them, with left back Ross scoring 2 goals 10 minutes before half time. Falmouth got 1 back before the break when a free kick came over and was spilled by our keeper leaving a tap in for the falmouth player. Ht 2-1

2nd half we settled down and started to play football the way we can and controlled for long periods of the 2nd half. Ben scored our 3rd after 15 minutes to put some distance in the score line. Both teams hit the woodwork, pushing to either kill the game completely or find a way back in.

Was a good local derby played with passion from both teams
