the waterboy
I would doubt that, you didn't see the state of some of their hangovers
Nemesis
Whats all the fuss about then at newquay..if you had a mixture of 1st 2nd & 3rd team players & beat a team with afew ex Ryman league players 7-1 you should have no worries! You might even win the league! No one but you is making a fuss Terry, Newquay are quite happy with the progress being made on and off the pitch. Just a note on the ground, despite no rain for weeks, the pitch was in superb condition, the ground looking very smart, well done to all those involved. The new management team are keen as mustard for the new season, read the Newquay Voice on Weds to find out more. With the prospect of some exciting new talent to the area joining The Peppermints, Mount Wise Stadium was a happy place yesterday, even I couldn't find anything to moan about. I can't think of another stadiun that looks quite like it!

leedsunited
Did i today read correct that newquay are STILL accepting applicants for 1st team manager, Whats happened to the caretaker managers? Why cant a club like newquay entice a high calibre manager as they have in previous seasons??
Nemesis
What's up Terry, still bitter after all these years ? As for high calibre managers as you call them, if they want to come to a club with a very limited budget, the smallest in town, then they would apply. So far, those who have applied, including a very highly respected Plymouth based Manager, have not been the right man for one reason or another. Both the applicant and the club have to be happy with what is required from both sides, it appears that the right man has not yet come forward. Having said that, if there is anyone other than Jim Hilton who knows Newquay AFC inside out, it is Ross McOnie and I can tell you right now, the supporters would be chuffed if he turns Interim into actual manager. The vibe around the place is superb, we may have lost a couple of players to cash rich clubs, but the current signings, including one from our nearest and dearest, has given the whole club a boost. Hope your Port Vale match goes well, you'll need the cash to pay the silly amounts not to win the SWPL again.
