Guest
Anyone got any views why the referee did not show at the Tavistock v Fowey cup match.
Westhamfan21
Tommy James was down to ref wasn't he? Local ref to me normally very reliable.
unitedrhino
Congratulations to Camelford today, turning up with a bare 11 players and deservedly taking the points. Paul Cackett had a decent game in the middle and Jamie Smith scored the goal of the season for Rovers after 12mins with a brilliant finish from 35 yards. Good luck to Camelford for the rest of the season

unitedrhino
No westhamfan, very very poor game everyone had there money back and went home. I expect some of the players left at halftime we were that poor in the 2nd half. You had a good win?
Nutmeg
What happened at Saltash yesterday I didn't manage to catch the game. Seems a weird result given Torpoints uncertain start to their league campaign? Would like to hear from the Saltash Manager he usually gives a honest account of preceedings... Jon Rosevear
I have no complaints as we got exactly what we deserved, although I felt 6-0 was a little unfair on us. Yes, we were missing players. But even with the very young side we had out on the pitch and with the players we brought in, I would have expected us to have performed much better than we did on the day and build on a very good performance at Tavistock in midweek where we should have come away with 3 points. Torpoint destroyed us in the opening 20 minutes and it wasn't until we were 2-0 down that I got a reaction. I felt either side of HT we slightly shaded it and if we had scored, would have gone on to get right back in it... but a mistake, and 3-0, killed us and we completely lost our shape and discipline which disappointed me massively. The referee handled the game well enough, although like most managers, I felt some of the decisions and important moments didn't go our way. The sending off was harsh from where I was stood, but understand the tackle may have looked worse from another angle. It's not a defence, but with a back four aged 18, 18, 20 and 18... Two other 18 year olds in the starting line up, and four on the bench, we are only going to learn and improve... if not be a little inconsistent and niaive on occasions. Well done Torpoint. Took full advantage of a bad day at the Ashes office... but we'll come again and be a better side for it.
Dean Cardew 8
It definitely wasn't a 6-0 game. I thought we started the game really well but the last 15/20 minutes of the first half Saltash were all over us and we were hanging on at the end and glad to go in without conceding. If we had, it would have been a different game. The second half we picked up again and started playing our normal football but not without a few scares and the 3rd goal was always going to be a massive one. Luckily for us it went our way. Saltash are a very good young side and having watched them at Tavi in midweek as well, I think they'll be up and around the top this season. I'm just grateful we caught them on an off day
Westhamfan21
Fair enough united rhino. Yeah it was a cracking win but could of gone either way, we kept plugging away though and got a result in the end which come the end of the season will be a big win. Also to add a great win seeing out two centre backs were out and the keeper So all in all a good day at the office and another win to extend our unbeaten run.
