  4. WALKING FOOTBALL – A GREAT WAY TO PLAY FOR THE OVER 50’S MAN How do fancy getting into playing football. I know you feel your knees are gone and your back aches opening the fridge door…… I know it takes twice as long as it used to to get out of bed….. I know the only time you worry about ball control is when your checking yourself out…. You ve seen the OLD GUYS talking about it on MATCH OF THE DAY.. Is talking about it enough? BUT … how many times have you promised yourself that you ll do more walking but its a bit boring on your own…. how many times have you watched the over paid pros on the TV and said I could have done that better… how many times have you wanted to make a lifestyle change but there was nothing there to appeal to you…. WALKING FOOTBALL could be the start of something new for you. Its a bit like 5 a side football but if you run – heaven forbid – its a free kick to your opponents. Its a great way to start to move around again, to have a kick about , to make friends, to have fun while playing. Elderly men are expected to do physical activity for 150 minutes a week. An hours Walking Football really does make a difference. It can help lose weight, give more energy, build up strength, balance and core stability ( the things that stop you from falling over) It can make you feel good, helps make friends and overcome loneliness and isolation… Wow.. thats got to be worth a try.. and each week you will get better and better.. It does not matter how old, what size, what background you are .. if you love football its for you If you are interested in Walking football Get in touch cornwallrocketsfc@gmail.com
  5. Volunteers Required The club is run on purely by volunteers and could not function without the dedication and hard work that our team of volunteer staff provide. Volunteers are required for a wide assortment of roles within the club from people with previous experience of managing or coaching through to people who have no previous experience within a football team environment. Enquiries are welcome from anyone who is interested in helping to run the club. cornwallrocketsfc@gmail.com
