somersetspur
Full time.CORBY 1 TRURO 0.Deserved a point, according to reports.Hope Aaron Pugh is O.K. Taken to hospital with a head/facial injury in the early stages.Battling performance, with no Pugh for most of the game,Shane Tully suspended and Wattto injured. Now we have a run against teams who are not considered promotion candidates.Time to collect some points and progress up the table. MOUNTAINEER
The referee was awful, the halfway line to him was like what a coop is to a homing pigeon, lacking in fitness must be the reason for him rarely visiting either penalty area, both teams suffered because he wasn't up with play officiating in the areas when the action needs decisive decisions. Late in the game City were denied a definite penalty when our forward had his legs hooked from beneath him. Two managers were sacked in the Southern Premier Division this week, were they justified decisions or attributed to the poor refereeing at Pyramid Level 3. City should have had the game well wrapped up before half time but missed chances cost us dear, on another day things could have been better. cornishteddyboy
My home-town club in the Southern League, Hereford United could be would up today. Going to the High Court with a rejected CVA in their back pocket. Ground Safety Certificate means capacity limited to 1000 inside Edgar Street but that doesn't matter as protests outside the ground before home matches. Over 1200 stay-away fans in protest as to how the club is being run refusing to attend games. Previous to the previous directors took over £1M out of the club for themselves whilst it was making a profit. They called it expences. There might be a new Pheonix club that will rise out of this if they are wound up. That's what I am hoping for.

Marazion2013
What a load of twaddle somersetspur. Corby were on 13 points before the game Saturday and only 2 places above Truro. If Truro had taken their chances as has been said, then they would have gone to 13 points and possibly a better goal difference and overtook Corby. Did Truro get treated differently when they were at the top a few seasons ago.

After today’s hearing, the court has awarded a seven day adjournment; this will allow the club to get their finances in order. Club chairman Andy Lonsdale had this to say: “Although this is not the outcome we expected, a few things had changed regarding the winding up order since the last time we were in court, so it is only right that the club now go away and adjust accordingly. We still remain positive that the business of Hereford United (1939) Ltd. will continue.” Read more at http://www.herefordunited.co.uk/news/article/7-day-adjournment-1889773.aspx#rJ7Q4s83cS7I62Gh.
Marazion2013
Somersetspur, you said top teams treated differently. I just pointed out that corby prior to saturday were not a top team. Why compare minor leagues to premier league. Back in the 60s spurs probably got there fair share of decisions to help them win the double then. Why compare minor leagues to premier league. Back in the 60s spurs probably got there fair share of decisions to help them win the double then. Totally different game in those days, football was much slower, you didn't get the contact at speed you get today so less need for split second decisions, Spurs were good because although passing the same as other teams they did it quicker, Spurs players then came and had gone before their opponents realised. I was at White Hart Lane working for Spurs in those days, that Spurs team was so good teams had a job to get near them, they were light years ahead of anything else around, Danny Blanchflower once said to me "This team is so good we will be the top team for years" if only that was true. Danny's thoughts were all you had to do was change players like changing batteries when they wear out, you lose a player for some reason and you replace like for like, good in theory but not in practice. Gawd I've just realised I have been suffering for over 50 years since, the Glory days when Wolves and Spurs set Britain alight surely not gone for ever. That thought is awful. Marazion2013
That's as may be but still doesn't explain why somersetspur feels corby got a decision with being a top team when Truro would have been above them if they had taken chances. He must have very rose tinted glassesWhere they were last Saturday or next Saturday, does not matter. They are one of the FAVOURITES for promotion.Just like Chelsea,City Liverpool and Arsenal will get the big decisions in the big moments.Football is corrupt from the very top ,and filters right down through to grass roots football.Look at my local Club ,Truro City, and what has happened over the years.Say no more. Marazion2013
What has happened at Truro was not down to the FA or leagues. It was down to the people in charge. The Fa were not the ones who didn't pay HMRC or sell the ground. Your argument does not stack up

Marazion2013
Corruption from who? People within the club not outside. You started by saying clubs got decisions higher they are and then say it was because people are corrupt for why Truro are where they are now. That they got relegated was for financial irregularities not because a referee gave a penalty or not

You started by saying clubs got decisions higher they are and then say it was because people are corrupt for why Truro are where they are now. That they got relegated was for financial irregularities not because a referee gave a penalty or notIm talking about all aspects ,corruption across the whole of the game. From FIFA, right through football. So have'nt you ever heard of referee's making funny decision's which see' s Club's relegated or promoted, costing Football clubs millions.Players taking bungs,or betting irregularities. Its called CORRUPTION.As for Truro, what the old regime did at the Club, was corruption.Im not getting into all that again, surely you have read all about it on this forum.I think this is all a bit much for you.So why not go to the beach, and look across to the lovely St Micheals Mount, and enjoy the beautiful weather,Im down that way today ,maybe if I got time,we could have a ice-cream together. Marazion2013
The fact is you said that it was decisions by referees that go to the bigger clubs and has now led you to go on to corruption of all aspects involved in football. Just accept it that if Truro had put their chances away as mountaineer has stated they had during the game, you would not be here trying to blame a referee. Because truro city players cannot score it is down to corruption and players taking bungs. Is that what you're saying? Think you need more than an ice cream. All I said to start with was that Truro would have been higher up the table than Corby if they had taken their chances so you cannot say Corby were treated differently because of their league position. I cant take no more.If you cant see it all come,s under one umbrella, from a dodgy decision by a referee or some back handers going on somewhere or football agents taking cuts underhand,or Sepp Blatter getting re-elected time after time, then fine.Im off at the weekend to watch the beautiful, honest straightforward game of football, somewhere. Are Marazion, home.?? Dave Deacon
Looks like the next home fixture at the Playing Fields isn't until the 27th - a tasty looking Percy Stephens First Round cup tie for the. Blues against fellow Division 2 side Storm. Kick off 2pm. The Match official has already been appointed and is Neil Harvey - let's hope he's not opened to bribes :)
