  1. 🔥 FANTASTIC NEWS 🔥 #cornishfootball The club are delighted to have been awarded grants totaling £80,000 towards drainage work to our Trungle Parc home. Work that will allow us to further improve our playing surface to the benefit of our players for years to come. Drainage project to begin at end of season. Mousehole AFC has been awarded grants totalling £80,000 to improve the drainage at their Trungle Parc home in Paul. The main part of the funding comes under the ‘Protecting Playing Fields’ scheme administered by Sport England from National Lottery coffers. The work is currently subject to tender and is expected to start in May after the end of the current season. The football club re-located to Trungle Parc in 1962 and purchased the freehold in the late 1980s. The site is on reclaimed land, formerly a marsh, which was filled in with stone mainly from the nearby Penlee Quarry. A 3-D survey of the site was undertaken last year to confirm the feasibility of the drainage project. Chairman Tim Richardson was pleased with the news: “We understand that this particular Sport England funding scheme is coming to an end so we are delighted to have been given the award – and such a sizeable sum. Trungle Parc is in a quite exposed and wet location, with water coming on to the site from higher ground on three sides. With the prospect of wetter winters, we should now have a better chance of avoiding postponements and, just as importantly, to create the best possible playing surface for our teams.”
