  1. Great memories of Luke playing for the County Under 18's in 1994/95 season when the side (like last season's) came within a whisker of winning the FA County Youth Cup. Terry Huddy and Kev Rowett used to call him 'Frank' and still do. But where the 'Frank' came from i still don't know to this very day. Great reading those recollections from 2002 which included many references to James Miller, another County Youth star, a tad younger than Luke.
  2. SWPL Goalkeepers

Before my time with the CCFA. He apparently did'nt get picked because he was'nt playing Senior Football at the time. 'did'nt impress Liverpool at the time' that's a bit harsh.
  3. SWPL Goalkeepers

Yes he did, he had a few days up at their training ground. This came of a Liverpool scout watching him play for Cornwall Youth against Liverpool Youth in the FA County Youth Cup Semi Final at Kirby Sports Stadium. ( Feb.1995.). Nothing came of the trial and Gary continued to play locally. I can't think of a better 'keeper over the years than Gary. Nigel Martyn never played for Cornwall Youth.
  4. SWPL Goalkeepers

One of the best County Youth 'keepers from the past 20 years or so. Gary Turner / St.Blazey FC.
  5. FA County Youth Cup Draw.

The FA have drawn Rounds One and Two of this coming season' s FA County Youth Cup Competition. Season 2017 / 2018. Last seasons finalists Cornwall have been given a bye in round one, however they have been drawn away to the the winners of the previous rounds tie involving Devon and Kent, the 2nd round tie has to be played on or before Saturday 4th November. The AGM of the South West Counties Youth Competition takes place in two weeks time, where the Groups A and B will be confirmed and subsequently the fixtures made and will be published accordingly.
  6. Duchy League AGM.

    Thanks Alan.
  7. Duchy League AGM.

The forthcoming AGM... when and where please.
  8. Mike.

Would you have a clue of the Charity Cup Semi Final result of the tie played in April 1973 between Newquay & St.Austell.  The tie was won by Newquay, however the St.Austell President is endeavouring to put the actual score to the result.  I have left a message for Stuart Lenton to ring as he played in the fixture, however i thought i would try you as well.

  10. Yes i can remember playing against Tremorvah up at Kenwyn and also the Royal Standard Inn played there for a couple of seasons.
  11. Willow. Perranporth Sunday. Back in days of the Truro & District Sunday League. Remember playing for Riviera Coasters in 1968/69 against Perranporth at Penhale Army Camp. And another season up at Perranporth Air Field where anyone over 6 foot tall had to 'duck' when Gliders' were landing !! Assuming that both grounds are no longer in existence. Camborne Athletic, again in the T&DSL played adjacent to the Rugby Ground, assuming that's Park Road. Factory team, Rank Bush Murphy played on an awful pitch behind the Railway Inn at Pool. Pitch best dug up and used for cabbages. T&DSL 1968/69. Is there anyone out there who can remember where the Bullers Arms played, somewhere in the Illogan area. ??? Again a T&DSL side. 1967/68.
  12. 'Who owns the ground' good question, i'll see what i can find out.
  13. And don't forget Molinnis Park - Bugle. Bugle SWL Champions back in the 1970's. Sad state now, only used for Bugle Band Contest day.
  14. Any luck with the results Dave ?
